Unreliable and needs constant rebooting

Something inherently wrong with this model. Constantly loses connection to Comcast (lately several times daily) and requires a reboot. The web interface says the cable connection is 'good', just stops passing traffic.

Netgear support seems to be lacking as well. So if you see them popping up here saying they'll support your questions, they won't really. They'll just blame your ISP. The logs never indicate any of these failures (they items listed are not timestamped with the time of the outages)

I wish there was an easier way to identify compatibility and to setup the guide that would be lost if I used my own modem. Alas"‹, we are being trapped by the large companies that provide internet and TV into old equipment that meets their need for low-cost products then can rent to us for ridiculous fees.

this modem is really my new favorite. works extremely well, no lag, no internet connection problems like my previous arris which was not good. was really easy to set up and had all the information on how to install to my charter account. after setting this modem up, i was seriously kicking myself in the butt for not purchasing the netgear modem before i bought the arris. i previously had a netgear router and to this day it works perfectly. no routing issues what so ever compared to the arris. i love this modem will from now on only buy netgear.

Constantly disconnects all devices from WIFI. When you try to reconnect it doesn't recognize the password and the only way the to get it to work again is restarting the router by unplugging it. Of course this seemed to become a problem after the amazon return date and Netgear's customer service is terrible. Just a warning the warranty may say one year but the tech support portion of refurbished products warranty is only 30 days so Netgear will not give me tech support over the phone and I am still looking for a way to get this replaced. Never had problems with Netgear before but unless they resolve this some how I'll likely never buy one again.
Pay a little extra to get a brand new product...it might save you a lot of pain.

Purchased this product to avoid rental costs with xfinity. I called to have it added to my account and the technician told me that this product had reached "end of life". This is either because it has been used before and is being resold instead of returned to the internet provider or its stolen (all this according to Xfinity). Regardless, I can't use it for my internet so I am returning it. It has been quite the hassle. I'm just going to spend a little extra money and purchase a brand new modem router to avoid the possibility of this happening again. Obviously this isn't the case for all refurbished modem routers but it was for mine.
