This thing is great, and seems like it was made specifically for bottleneck guitar slides, my particular use. I suppose it could be used for any project but it was a perfect fit for me. My only advice would be to follow the instructions to a T and you'll be pleased with the results. I deviated from the instructions a little and ruined a couple bottles. Wine bottles need to be heated a tad longer due to the thickness. Great product

For a cheaply made gadget, results are pretty darn good. The trick is to really squeeze and apply even pressure on the three prongs while rotating. Good cutting wheel, good scores, easy positioning and operation but pretty flimsy and wobbly. You need to correct for this and hold it in position and rotate without stopping.
