I use this to connect more devices to my Samsung Smart TV via HDMI. I connected the Chromecast, DVD player and Nintendo to it. Works great. If I power one of the units up the TV automatically switches to the correct input. No need to press any buttons on the switch. I wish TVs had a dozen HDMI inputs, but they don't so I use this instead.

The technology is extgremely easy to use! It's just that every time I switch back to my HDMI cable that is plugged into my ASUS labtop my second monitor goes haywire...I'm sure I just got a slightly malfunctioning switcher though and it's not a huge deal. Don't rate things poorly when t hey don't work. Rate them when they are working fine so that everyone looking at that item knows what to expect because CHANCES ARE THEY WON'T GET A BROKER ONE. Those caps aren't mean to seem angry

This product does exactly what I ask of it and does so for a reasonable price without having to be shipped from China (even though it may have come from there in the first place). So why don't I rate it 5 Stars (I love it)? Two reasons. One, how can anybody actually LOVE a 2x1 Port HDMI switch? That seems a bit much to me. Two, getting this postpones my need to replace my aging Audio/Video Receiver whose main fault is its limited number of HDMI ports. And, budget notwithstanding, I really kind of wanted to buy a new Anthem 701 AVR. My wife is thrilled that I spent $15 instead of $1,500, but I'm just a little sad...

I bough the 2 Port HDMI Switch so I can alternate between watching my laptop screen and my HD Cable. like how the product automatically switches from one HDMI to another HDMI depending on which HDMI port is turned on first, connected or disconnected sequentially. I only wish I had the foresight to buy the version with the remote for ease of use. Oh, if only hindsight was 20/20. I guess I can get up from the futon occasionally and tap the selection button. At least I don't annoyingly have to continuously plug and unplug the HDMI wires from the back of my TV as I was previously doing prior to purchasing the 2 Port HDMI Switch.
