This review is in reference to this machine being marketed as their pet model. While this vacuum certainly does a good job as general cleaning, it does not function well with in our home which has 3 long air pets consisting of a Benese Mountain dog and 2 Siberian cats. As a consumer I would expect a "pet" vacuum to have functional design differences that are geared for pets. Unfortunately this is not the case with the Sebo K3 Premium Pet. What's the difference with this model? Well it is white versus red; and it comes with an extra brush attachment. That's it folks.... noting truly "Pet" designed.

We've used this vacuum for several months now and we constantly find that first of all that a lot of pet hair simply becomes entangled in the power brush. Sebo does make it easy to remove the roller, but really you would expect that this power head could do better. When the hair does make its way down the hose a more significant issue occurs; even with a new empty collection bag the hair collects in a waded ball at the point the hose is joined with the machine. The machine simply doesn't have the power to completely ingest the hair into the collection bag. When this happens the hose is clogged and all suction is lost. The only way to remove the blockage is with a pair of needle nose pliers.

I again stress that this review is related to the marketing of the vacuum as Pet. Perhaps this machine works fine for short hair pets, but clearly based on our experience (see photos) it simply is not designed for dogs and cats who have longer hair. A cosmetic change in color of red to white does nothing to now market this vacuum as a Pet model when there as been absolutely no performance design enhancements.

Expensive yes, but the only vacuum out there worth taking home. I was all set to buy a Miele because I liked its onboard attachments, but couldn't look past the flimsey lid. But what really turned me away from the Miele was that the power head broke in the store when I tried pushing the step button that releases the head from its standup position. It was also difficult to push the carpet depth adustment button. The Sebo on the other hand has sturdy straight forward adjustment mechanisms. It's also quiet and a pleasure to use. While I wish it had onboard storage for more of its attachments (it does store some of them), it is so superior in other ways to anything out there, I give it a solid 5-star rating. I'm really glad I bought it!
