Excellent product for a rain barrel
REVIEWER71•April 21, 2017
Excellent product and a must have for rain barrels.
My only complaint is that the two parts that make the "seal" for the rain barrel were so tight I had to use two wrenches to undo them. This is a reverse thread.
The benefit is that you can change "just the spigot" if you ever need to and retain you seal with your rain barrel. The spigot itself is really "hand only tightening"--I wasn't able to get a wrench on this.

They are great and well worth the money

I used the Rain Barrel faucet for my plastic 55 gal drums and followed the installation instructions. They are great and well worth the money. Be careful not to over-tighten. Connect your garden hose and let your rain water drain slowly; don't expect water pressure from your 55 gal drum. I water the yard and gardens. I have two drums and after a rain, will have 110 gal of water to use later. It's a great way to collect water where you have drainage or runoff problems. With a drainage hose, you put the water where you want it.
Works Great For a DYI Rain Barrel!
Trento•May 14, 2016
I used this on a 55 gallon rain barrel. It works perfectly! I have since bought another and it also works great too! I've had it for several months and it hasn't leaked. I made the rain barrel for my garden. We have been in a drought in California and this was a way for me to garden and not use more water. I had several people ask me if it was legal, and YES, it is. It does not constitute diversion of water and therefore is totally legal 100% This is very eco friendly and is a great way to conserve water. I installed it using the string and weight method. I drilled a hole and then used a string with a weight tied to it. Then, I used the string to guide the backing to the hole. This made a perfect, contained rain barrel. I had also got everything else I needed to make the rain barrel right on amazon. So, a long story short, if you need a way to drain a rain barrel, this is it. Worked for me.

I recently made a rain harvester out of a 275 gallon caged liquid container that did not have an spigot on it. This was very simple to install even though I had very small opening at the top to work with. Using a wire fish I was able to guide the inside piece to the whole I drilled and install it in just a few minutes. My only complaint with the item is the plastic valve turn had a the stop point break off before I even had water in the container. This didn't stop it from working I just have to pay attention to its position to ensure it is closed
