The item itself I would rate 4.5 stars. The 0.5 reduction was due to the fact that it does require many steps to completely fine grind to very fine. Would be lovely if can did it in fewer steps.
Now rated at 3 stars are because I think mine has issues. Understand that I should and did let it run for some grains for first useage to clear the possible debris. However, I don't expect to see rocks in my bowl once awhile. I only poured white rice in. I'm 100% sure. Also once very odd time will hear some very rough grinding sound while fine grinding the rice. Stopped on me twice too. (Not over heat. Been testing since arrival, only let it run small batches and let rest pretty enough time between 2-3 runs.)
I wanted to exchange, but only option was return. I just started the return and going to order again.

When I first tried it, all the berries just flew out whole. It turned out that I hadn't clicked in the top properly. Next, the mill just wouldn't grind-- the berries just would not flow down to the hopper even when I tried to help it along with the brush that's provided. All the wheat berries flew out whole. I packed it up to return it to Amazon. But then I went onto YouTube and learned that you have to TURN ON THE MILL BEFORE ADDING the berries! It worked beautifully. I did have to send the flour through the mill twice to get the fine consistency that I wanted.
I love the way it looks sitting out on my counter

I have been looking at getting the Komo mill for a long time but I didn't want to fork out that much money. We got this on a cyber week deal after a lot of research. It has a bigger motor than the Komo I was looking at. I love the way it looks sitting out on my counter. It mills wonderfully. It is really easy to clean and doesn't spray flour all over. It is a little loud but it's quick and does the job well. I've made bread, rolls, drop biscuits, cake, cookies and soup with the wheat I've ground from it. It really is a nice piece of equipment! I get a little giddy just seeing it sit there.
Worth the Upgrade!

This grain mill FINALLY gave me the fine setting I was looking for! I upgraded from the Kitchen Aid attachment. The kitchen aid is great as a start up grain mill, but I had to add conventional flour in my recipes to get the texture I wanted because the Kitchen Aid just couldn't get it fine enough (even after running my grain through the mill 3-4 times, I ended up with muffins that had a cornbread-like texture). I'm thrilled with the difference with the Nutrimill! No more grainy-textured muffins and quick breads! For the picture, I ran rice through both mills to compare the texture. Bonus- The Nutrimill looks pretty sitting on my counter and it's quick.
Awesome gadget

Used it once so far and I love it. I was expecting an extremely noisy shop vac like sound but was pleasantly surprised that unless it is grinding the motor is nearly silent. The construction is very nice and in terms of size and noise I would place it somewhere around one of those old school hot air popcorn poppers. Just wish I knew these things existed sooner.
