ESSENTIAL for Road TRIPS!~~!
FLowWOOLF NATURALS•April 30, 2017
I'm just CRAZY about this Weather Radio. Did loads of research before buying. You will NOT be disappointed. You WILL be happy. I get a kick putting it in sunlight and watching the LED light up during the solar charging. Easy to use! P.S. The battery "icon" stops blinking when it's fully charged. A little tip for you. Plenty of volume for our 24-ft. RV. Essential item for road trips.!!!
Great small radio.

This is my second Sangean radio purchase. I'm impressed with how well made they are. The MMR-88 has a very "Big" sound for such a small radio. It charges off a USB cable and "tops up" with a small solar panel on the top. It runs for several days per charge for me. Way better than expected.
Non techinical review.

This is a well-constructed, pack full of features, nice size radio. Every family should have one of these. Outdoor enthusiasts would really benefit. Would be great for vehicles. Yeah I really like it and recommend purchasing.
Love It!

Bought it before I went "up north" (NE Michigan) last summer. The sound quality is pretty impressive for such a compact unit. Convenient controls. Lots of functions. The solar charging doesn't quite keep up sometimes, but there are three ways to charge it, so.. Didn't pull in AM stations very well, but maybe there weren't any up there. Odd, though, since AM can usually be counted on to carry a long, long ways. Otherwise, a lot of radio for the money, to my way of thinking. Occurs to me that forty years ago, this would have been ten times bigger and many times more expensive.
Nice little emergency unit, fun any time, too.

After going through a week without power recently, due to an ice storm, I was really wishing I had something like this. I am really happy with the Sangean MMR-88 so far. I love the way it looks. The black rubber bumpers on the ends are good looking, and functional. It is a very nice size, sound is great for this type of radio. Flashlight works well. I had an extra 18350 battery lying around so now I will always have a back up.
I will be using it daily for weather reports, and nightly listening to Coast to Coast am.
Spend a little time reading through the instruction manual, so you can set the time, preset stations, etc.
