Durable Emergency Radio

I ordered this Emergency radio to replace the one I've had for 20 years. It has a lot of great features, and would make a great addition to an emergency kit, or to take camping.
The sound quality is really good with most stations, but the tuning function is hard to figure out. You have to long press one of the tuning buttons, and it will scan and stop on the first one it finds, whether it's very staticky, or clear, then set it in the presets. I can't figure out how to preset the stations that I would like though.
The flashlight is very bright, with three settings, and I like that you can pop up the solar panel without the light coming on automatically, like others do. The compass and carrying strap are a nice addition, but the strap gets in the way of the solar panel, so has to be removed when charging. Also, the buttons are black on black, so it's hard to see what each one is for.
I ordered two different emergency radios, and this one has much better sound, durability, and overall quality than the other one. Once I get used to it, I think it will be really handy during a power outage.

Great solar & USB rechargeable weather radio for emergencies with lots of features

This solar powered weather radio has many great features and can also be powered with a USB-C cable and charger, as well as a hand crank to manually charge the radio when there is no sunlight or power avaliable for charging options. The solar panel on the top has an extended panel that can be pulled out for more solar charging power. There is a bright multi bead LED lamp on the bottom of the top solar panel that is accessed by flipping up the solar panel to expose the light. This radio is waterproof and all ports and buttons are rubber or silicone covered. The radio casing is built with hard ABS material so it is heavy duty and can withstand extreme weather conditions and unexpected drops. There is a small compass located on the top of the radio. A bright flashlight with 3 modes of light is located on one side of the radio. There is an SOS loud alarm also embedded within the radio. The radio has 3 bands available which are AM, FM and WB (weather band) and the control buttons for the radio are located on the front. There is also a USB-A port for output charging of other devices and a headphone cable port. A thick strap with rubber handle and a USB-C cable are included with this radio. This feature packed weather radio with a 12000mAh rechargeable battery is a great value and a very important piece of equipment to have available for emergencies and as a main item in my bug-out bag. I highly recommend this awesome radio to everyone who likes to be prepared for unexpected emergency situations.

Besides the compass being waaaay off, it works great, and the battery lasts super long unless you're charging from it. Charging a phone 50% will kill it so reserve that for emergencies. Otherwise we used the radio constantly for a few days and light every night (without crank recharge or solar recharge) and it didn't make a dent in the battery. Cranking seems not worth the work. But the solar is great. Sweet little brick, we love it!

I had to replace a 25 year old weather radio that I got from I want to say JC Penny. I mean, they weren't known for their electronics, and it shows. Non-standard charging, a broken dynmo, an antenna that keeps falling off... yea, it was time to go.
The Newest Weather Radio is a worthy replacement. I love the fact it's got the same necessary features as my old one with more modern technology. The solar panel actually works, and it's got more surface area there, the light is LED, so no worry about draining the battery. The battery is lithium-ion, and not an old-school ni-cad, so it's all great.
My biggest concern is the radio function. It took me close to 10 minutes to get it working and understand how it works. You want to long-press the radio button and it goes into a scan mode. Just leave it alone and let it do it's thing. It will assign found stations to presets and THEN you can scroll through the presets. I wish manual seeking was easier, but I could not find a way to do this with the unit, even after consulting the manual. This is for the AM/FM stations, the NOAA weather stations are manual seek.
In all, it's a great unit. Some minor control issues, but decent other than that.
