It's functional and a super easy mount on the roof

I see lots of reviews here for the antenna purchased. My review is for the mount only. It would really be a 5 for me all around from purchase and receiving what I expected. It's functional and a super easy mount on the roof. My antenna mounted easily. It was all a no brainer.. So my selfish reason for lack of 5 stars is that I need the mount to be taller. I don't have time to shop and need an extension. For most this is going to be great. Where I'm located it's just enough to get low bars on my antenna but standing on the roof holding the antenna 1 foot higher made all the difference. I'd like to see a compatible upgrade to make this happen easily.

However, 5 stars for product as described and super easy to install.. it's just the mount and way less bulky than a bunch of others. It's sturdy and does the job while looking pretty? Um.. well, it's still on the roof but MUCH better than the rest!
Low cost but works good

Mount and pole worked good. I used it to mount an antenna in my attic. It looks just like my old directv sat mount. It came with the hardware needed to put together and also some leg bolts and drywall anchors. It has a pivot slot and an actor point so that you can pivot the pole for aligning it in any of 45 degrees of placement.

Assembly of the pole to the base was a little tricky as they use carriage bolts for the sliders but the bolts have to go from the inside of the tube through the base. The tube is only an 1.5" and it hard to get the bolts in the tube with ur fingers. So assemble everything on the ground and table first before climbing with it. Also it's easier to assemble those bolts if you install the one long pivot bolt first then pivot the pole to the extreme one direction then insert the small carriage bolts. Hand tighten all the hardware and then install mount and tube to your location. Once you have the base and tube mounted to the wall/roof/chimney or where ever you are using it then you can align the tube and tighten all the bolts up tight. For alignment purposes you can install the tube in either direction. Because the tube has a bend on one end it allows you to really get any angle you almost ever would need.

Mount and tube are plenty strong and have a decent finish on them so I wouldn't worry about it being outside and feel plenty strong for a large antenna.

The only thing I would change is I would weld two nuts on the inside of the tube and use two small bolts from outside in, instead of the two carriage bolts. The mount is very low cost for what it is and I am sure that if they welded the buts inside the tube the cost would go up.
Great deal on an outdoor antenna that works.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I tried all of the indoor antennas I could find and none of them would pick up all my local channels. I am less than 50 miles from the towers and tried antennas that costed four times as much as this one.
I decided to cut the cord and get rid of DIRECTV but needed a way to watch my local news channels. I bought this antenna and attached it to the feed horn on my old dish and then used the cable from the dish to connect the antenna. Walla I had 57 local channels on all of my tvs that were previously connected to DIRECTV.
Note: make sure you disconnect all your tvs from the DIRECTV recievers before you search for channels. I didn't do this at first and only got 12 channels. The power from the receivers causes interference.
This is a great buy and you can't beat the price for an outdoor antenna that works this good with no amplifier.
Very nice antenna for the price.

Seems like it's going to be a decent antenna. It's light weight with a thin boom but it is also fairly small so I'm hoping it will hold up ok. It assembles in 2 pieces and is creatively secured by wing nuts with a little o-ring to keep them secured. I think lock washers would have been a better choice. I sued a little thread locker on each screw to make sure they don't loosen up and the antenna comes apart in a storm. It's not as meaty as the RCA antennas (that are made in USA) but to be fair it was also almost 1/2 the price. Over-all for the price I think it is a decent antenna. Will update this after I have some time on it. Will update with data on range too, I'm about 70mi from the transmitter towers. Right now I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. And yes, this is a UHF only antenna. It pretty much covers all the digital channels but won't cover any of the old analog ones below ch14. Should be no big deal since the digital channels for 2 - 13 have been re-mapped to UHF anyhow. One thing I did especially like on this one is the pick up element with the type-F antenna port mounted as an assembly. Nice and clean.

Update: Antenna is up and working great. I have it at a cabin about 60 miles from the transmitter towers, about 10' up in the air and it is working great. Strong solid signals on all the channels. Very happy. Next test is to see how it survives the spring storms. Easily worth the money though.
For the price, this is an excellent antenna for those reasonably close to the towers

This antenna was bought, mostly cause of the low price, and to test against the flat "leaf-style" antenna I'd been trying. For my basement theater, the leaf-style antennas weren't working. I'm in a bit of a well geographically, though only about 11 miles away for all the major network towers, so the basement gets zero signal. The leaf antenna, positioned on the main floor, even with a booster gave really sub-par performance.

An old terk antenna I had lying around worked way better and became the benchmark I'd judge everything else against. TERK Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna This antenna came with a plug-in amplifier that I realized early on either didn't boost the signal appreciably or actually lowered it.

Here is now this antenna stacks up. I've got the antennas pointed in the direction of the towers, indoors, and positioned as high and as close to the broadcasters as possible. I've set it up this way to test it and will eventually move it to the attic.

My local channels are 4 (on channel 32 at 578mhz), 5 (on 34 at 590mhz), 9 (on 9 at 186mhz), 11 (on 11 at 198mhz), and 23 (on 22 at 518mhz). There are others, but these are the majors and so the only ones I was worried about checking.

The Terk antenna, my baseline, receives signal (as reported by my tuner) as:
4 - 72%
5 - 60%
9 - 72%
11 - 53%
23 - 86%

This antenna gets:
4 - 76%
5 - 76%
9 - 72%
11 - 60%
23 - 82%

So there' a general improvement across the board (with one going just slightly down). I get watchable TV on all channels, whereas with the Terk I would get occasional stutters. I'm sure once I got into the attic with it, the signals will improve a tad more. I can also do some tuning of the direction and elevation of the antenna to try and dial it in a bit better.

Overall, this is a nice antenna. It gave me the boost in signal I was looking for. Not a dramatic improvement, but for a $15 antenna I can't expect miracles. The build quality is a bit flimsy. I don't know if I'd expect it to last through a lot of northern winter and summer cycles, but for an attic mount it's perfect.
