SAD SAD SAD... just sad!
Ryan N HooverMarch 3, 2017
Wow! If I could give a negative star rating I would! I replied to a review because the company replies to these reviews, I really thought they would have had their manufacturing down right, however, what a disappointment. The piece of plastic that the filament to feed into IS MISSING! How do you forget to put this in?!?! You CANNOT feed the filament into the machine because of this. The only way is to open the side of the case and do it! 800$ and I have to take the darn thing apart JUST to get it to work. This is extremely sad! It took an hour of googling to figure out I'm not the idiot and missing something but indeed the idiots are the ones allowing these cruddy manufactured items to leave with their name on it!! This part is equal to forgetting to install the heater or feeder... COME ON!! See pictures. I'm sure the sad reply will be sorry we'll send a part in 6-8 weeks. We'll all see and I'll update accordingly. I would love to review the actual printer but seeing as it shipped with a very important piece missing, I'll have to hold off for now!
Nice printer, poor customer service
Matthew K.August 15, 2016
I purchased about 9 months ago, the printer arrived broken and wasn't working properly. I took the side panel off to see if I could find the problem as I had waited patiently for it from Amazon, I found the broken part, took pictures, contacted customer service that said I voided the warranty from taking the side panel off and would have to pay for the parts that were broken.
I fixed the part myself and the printer works great, their software is good also. But as a business owner myself and dedicated to my customers satisfied experience. I would never purchase another product from the people at CEL Robox.
Broken Robox printer not being fixed by Robos
Amazon CustomerJuly 4, 2016
Installed machine as per manufacturer's instructions and it broke on the second print. Sent print head to Arizona for repair and was told that it cannot be repaired because of its high tech engineering (something about aligning the extruder with the pins, etc). Then I was given the option of a used head with no new replacement or use the broken head and wait for a replacement or keep the machine until new heads arrive, likely in more than a month. It seems that Robox is spending all its resources manufacturing machines but not replacement parts. I would wait to buy it until they have enough parts to honor their warranty AND there are enough satisfied customers with this product.
This Is a High-Quality, Well-Designed Collection of Hardware, But it is NOT a 3D Printer.

This printer does not work at all. I downloaded the latest version of the software before starting (Windows 64-bit). The software delivers an endless stream of error messages. Will not print; will not purge the nozzle; will not eject filament once it is loaded. I had to return it with the filament reel still in place.

The graphical display of nozzle temperature to the left of the graphics window in the software, and the text display of nozzle temperature in the graphics window show completely different values. On an HD screen (1920 x 1080), parts of some of the pop-up windows in the Settings menu are clipped and the windows cannot be resized, making some of the settings, and their labels, inaccessible.

After the first error, the software instructed me to immediately shut the unit down, eject the filament, reseat the head and restart. The filament would not eject because the nozzle would not heat up enough to allow ejection (even though it appeared to heat up beyond operating temperature at times when it was not supposed to). I shut it off and reseated the head. After restarting I was warned that I had shut the unit down while the head was still hot, and that could damage the head, even though the software had instructed me to shut it down when I did.

The hardware and design appear to be of very high quality and well done. The problem may be with the software. The latest version of the Users Manual and the Quick-Start Guide from the Robox web site do not match the latest version of the software, downloaded at the same time also from the Robox web site.

Does not deserve even one star, but that is the lowest rating allowed.
I really wanted to like this printer.

I really wanted to like this printer. It's simple and clean and sturdy. Unfortunately, after just a few test prints the printer just started acting buggy. No matter how many times I calibrated it, it was a gamble each time if the printer would print correctly. Nothing was obviously broken. The factory rep was very nice to work with but I wasted days just trying to make it work. Note: even if the print time is ten minutes, the bed must heat up first which takes about 5 minutes, then the nozzle which also takes some time before the print actually starts. If the print is canceled, the bed and nozzle must also cool down for nearly ten minutes just to open the door, so each failed print actually took close to 30 minutes and I must have had 30 failed prints out of 50. The thing is, when it prints correctly it's awesome.
