This is a great way to stain your spa/tub/pool blue. Yes, it does make the water look a little bit blue, but the downside is the blue residue left behind is extremely difficult to clean: when wet it is hard to clean up, and when it dries it seems nearly impossible to get off gel-coat. Beyond that, it's just your normal chlorine. I have no idea why there are so many enthusiastic reviews for this stuff.

Works as expected, but this size container is made for full sized swimming pools, not hot tubs. The amount to use is specified for a 10,000 gallon pool. You have to ratio the gallons in your spa to the table on the label to get the correct amount for a spa. But it's a WHOLE lot cheaper than buying spa-sized chemicals.

This stuff is the bomb! I've tried a few different things, bromine, minerals and bromine combined, etc. - and nothing maintained our hot tub that well. I read all the reviews for this, took a shot in the dark, and ordered it. I use more to shock the water (three tablespoons), such as upon fill up, and if our kids use it consistently. Other than that, every few days I'll throw in one tablespoon. To be honest, I've even skipped adding any for two weeks, and when I open the hot tub the water is crystal clear. Our water is GREAT!!! So clear, and balanced! This is the only thing I'll use from now on.
