Swift and Painless -- Highly Recommend!
Shellie•October 23, 2017
Got this after searching for something that could freshen the look of our mulch in the middle of the season. It took me all of 20 minutes to complete the entire front landscaping, and I used a scrap piece of thin project wood to create a barrier between the spray and the house and stonework around our sidewalks. I think a piece of poster board would work just as easily and the directions state that wetting the areas you don't want affected also helps to prevent the dye from sticking. It was pretty windy when I applied it, so I would suggest waiting for a calm day if possible, though it didn't make it so difficult that I was discouraged at all -- just don't stand downwind.
This one little bottle will easily last us another three or four applications. We bought the Chapin 20000 Poly Lawn and Garden Sprayer for about $12 and it worked beautifully. No clogging or pressure issues whatsoever. All-in-all, best return on $40 I've gotten in a while with regard to home improvement.

Still trying.

I've tried several times to use this, but will probably try a few more times. When a tad spilled on concrete it stained it, even though I'd gotten it wet prior just in case. When I got my sprayer ready to go, it continually clogged the spray tip, and after spraying a small testing area, could not tell where I'd sprayed it after it dried.
Great product, fills a need.

It works! At first I thought it would be a gimmick but decided to give it a try. I have tons of good mulch, just no color and in no mood to replace it altogether. Anyways, I put this in a sprayer and worked the yard, looks phenomenal.
Few tips:
1. Apply when there is little to no wind.
2. Take your time! It's pretty easy to get your sidewalks and walls. If you do, clean them right away.
3. Wear a pair of old shoes.
4. Clean out your sprayer right after you are done.
If applied carefully, this is many times less work than replacing mulch. Really glad I tried it.

Brand New Looking Mulch in Minutes!

This product is just awesome. I took a before and after picture of placing 4 oz of Black Forest mulch paint mixed with a gallon of water in a Chem sprayer and it actually made mulching fun by painting the dye right on my old mulch of summer stressed and grass clippings to look new. Very surprised on how well it went on. Just be sure to slow down the spray near brick or siding as it is difficult to remove but if you're careful, it's a fun way to make your mulch look new! Great product.
Great product! It works exactly as advertised

Great product! I applied the product on a sunny day. It was in the high 80s. After applying the product it dried extremely quick. I sprayed a little on a concrete walkway but was able to quickly rub dirt on it to remove the color. The only problem I had was messing up the ratio to water. I added double concentrate for the first couple batches. When I noticed my miscalculations I was worried the color would be less black. The color stayed exactly the same, so do not add more concentrate to make it more black.
