This is a very high quality product that appears to contain only the very best alfalfa with no fillers or binders. I use it as is for a soil amendment in the vegetable garden and to brew a liquid fertilizer. If you make compost, it is an excellent source of nitrogen and other nutrients that will facilitate the composting process. The brew I make consists of a quart measure of alfalfa pellets, a shovel full of compost, a half cup of Epsom salts, and a half cup of agricultural lime mixed with 20 gallons of water in a trash can. Let it ferment covered for about a week and water your plants with it. Watering is more effective if you take an empty 1 gallon plastic jug and cut a hole in the bottom then bury it next to your plant upside down about a third of the way down. Put a rock in it to keep it stable. When you water this way the water goes deeper into the soil and feeds the roots more directly. Deeper roots form making the plant more drought tolerant. FYI alfalfa sends its roots down up to 60 feet and collects lots of trace minerals, has many vitamins, and according to author Dick Raymond, contains a naturally occurring plant growth hormone.

This product was specifically requested by Noah's Ark, an animal sanctuary in Locust Grove, GA. I know for a fact they LOVE all their animals, and would not have added this to their wish list unless they completely believed in the product. So, while it wasn't for me, I know it is loved by the animals eating it, and believed in by their human guardians. Will I buy it again, or recommend it to a friend? You bet!
