Worked as promised! Plug-and-play wireless DMX. I used these with 8 MFL 12x10 LED Wireless Par lights, and a CO-Z 192 DMX 512 Stage DJ Light Controller. Everything connected immediately, and worked right out of the box.

Solid operation, no dropouts. Word of caution (as noted in the user manual), when using with smart LED lights make sure that they are all in DMX mode (not auto run or slave more) otherwise the mis configured light will cause disruption of all the the other DMX receivers on the same wifi channel setting.

Setup was a little rough getting the units to communicate - after setting transponder and receivers to the same LED color (wireless channel), it seems I needed to power off all the units by unplugging their power cords and then plugging then back in to get them to actually start communicating. But after that, they've been working great! I set up a number of DMX scenes via my DMX controller and switching between scenes seems as instantaneous as with a hardwired DMX connection! I'm now free of DMX cables! Although I do need power connections for the transponder and each of the receivers. To bad the DMX protocol doesn't provide power (like USB), but that's not Donnor's fault. Oh well... :)
Skip a a long cable run, go wireless!

Rock solid... I've never had any interference issues with Donner DMX wireless gear. And even if you do this supports multiple frequencies... you should find something open.
If you are starting out, Donner sells things in sets, as small as a single transmitter and receiver, up to a single transmitter and several receivers. This item is good to add a single receiver to an existing transmitter.
The theory is simple. You can run a DMX cable from your board to a light, or use a transmitter and receiver to skip the long cable run. We use one to go from the board to our stage lights on the floor, and then use regular DMX patch cables to interconnect the rest of our lights. We use a second one to reach lights mounted high up on a trusst system.

I have not put them into real world testing as of yet, but in the shop they work great! No lag, no sticking and no cross talk. The build is solid.
I wish there was a 5 pin version so phantom power could be used. That would be helpful in a lot of cases.
Update 10-4-16: Second time I used them they were about 10' apart and working great.. then all of a sudden they stopped sending DMX data. The red light was blinking but no data. I reset the xmitter several times as well I replaced the receiver with no good results. Finally I reset them both yet a 4th time and they finally started to work. My guess is the xmitter stopped for some reason. That shoots the reliability claim in the foot. returned
