I hiked through portions of the Smoky Mountains, an *intense* physical strain, and have Type 1 Diabetes. I found that I could hike about 3 miles on one bar without doing ANY bolis insulin, and my glucose levels stayed steady and in target. Under normal circumstances do your proper bolus.

I like packing these for hikes to get good calories and protein in. They taste pretty good for about 3/4 of the bar but by the end of it the flavor is a bit much. Overall like them though

I have a hard time eating enough protein during the day and these help a lot. They don't have any weird aftertaste and are really tasty, however, they are large and high calorie if you eat a whole one. I typically eat half at a time.
