My favorite scraper for bowls

This is an excellent scraper that has good heft to it, holds an edge well, and I really like the carter and son handle. I have Sorby, Thompson and D-way tools that I use the majority of the time and this one is every bit as good as those. The weight and balance is perfect to me and weight of it really reduces chatter....some of my beginning tools were very lightweight and were harder to get a good finish cut with...this scraper is the best for cleaning up end grain on my turned bowls...does a better job than sanding. The steel holds an edge for a long time and a few swipes with a diamond card and its giving super fine shavings.
You need to sharpen this tool out of the box as all lathe tools need
