Nice Thermostat. Easiest Thermostat I've installed yet. I had the CT30 before which consistently gave Z-Wave connectivity issues, so I was going to upgrade to the CT100, when I noticed this thing. I decided to try it out, the display is simplistic and elegant. This thermostat also uses the newer ZWave Plus spec which provides better range and connectivity. If you are a fan of having your thermostat show a bunch of different functions, this is not for you. The way the temperature changes is nice to watch. Additionally, when not in use it just looks like a white slab on your wall. All the advanced features are controlled online with the Alarm.com web page or app. I will say this is a much smarter thermostat than a Lyric or Nest when you tie in the alarm.com back-end.

Our old thermostat stopped working, & we couldn't get a replacement from the company we originally bought it from in time. This was a problem in Massachusetts in winter. Amazon to the rescue!

Overall good thermostat, used 1% of the battery over 1 month use. Be careful when installing the wires into the device, I found the plastic inside was cheap and when I pushed the wire through the hole to power the device the plastic piece broke off. So there are pieces of plastic holding in the wires that you push to release the wire but when I pushed down it just snapped off. It should not affect the use of the thermostat as long as I do not need to get the wire out since it is stuck in place. One time the thermostat went offline but i got it to come back online.

Can't say enough good things about this unit. I'll do a detailed review in a few days after exploring all the features.

UPDATE: We've had one installed upstairs for several weeks and ordered another one for downstairs about a week ago.

1) I like that we can lock the kids out of changing the temp from the unit and only control it from our phones. No more discovering they set the thermostat at 63 and took off for the weekend.

2) Being able to program (up to 4 scenes) from the phone is great. I hate standing at the thermostat trying to do that (and there isn't even an option for that on this unit). The interface is VERY user friendly.

3) The app interface is easy to read and understand but it does take a little bit to get the hang of (maybe that's just my middle aged mom brain talking though).

4) There is no "intuitive" learning. One thing that turned us off about the Nest was how it would predict temp settings based on motion in the home. This doesn't work well for us. We spend large amounts of time out of the room where the thermostat is located. This unit doesn't provide me with that extra layer of frustration.

5) $105 each is what we paid for these units. That's in line with other thermostats with wifi connectivity yet integrates with our Alarm.com app (and is MUCH cheaper than a $250 Nest).

I have only one complaint so far, sometimes the app hangs up and in order to change the program or settings it will be necessary to completely close out the app and restart it. I am hopeful the debs will rectify this soon. It is an annoyance and why I give the unit 4 stars instead of 5.

Overall, it has been a great investment for us and fits nicely with our home automation goals. I would buy it again.
