We love the fact that you can adjust and monitor heat over the web. When away on vacation we dialed the heat down to 45. The day we came home we raised the temp about 10 degrees every hour or so. House was nice and toasty when we finally got home. The phone app also makes it easier to program you schedule. We use our phones even though the thermostat is only a few feet away. I like the way these thermostats anticipate the time needed to bring the home up to temp and kicks the furnace on a bit earlier on the really cold mornings.
This is my second Honeywell Wi-Fi unit. Our previous home had a wood pellet furnace that was backed up by a conventional propane furnace. It was a different model and allowed us to use to control both furnaces.

This thermostat works great. It does everything the nest does at more than half the price. If you like the looks of the nest, get the nest but if you think the nest is the only thermostat that "learns" the temperature then research this thermostat and you will see what it is capable of.
Installed the thermostat, downloaded the app, connected to WiFi and synced it with my Google home all in less then 10 mins. Very easy to install. App is easy to use when not at home. Google home is very easy to use. Tell Google to turn the heater or ac on to your desired temperature and it does it without any problem.
I can't speak for the 1 or 2 star reviews but if you are not comfortable with wiring this yourself or you simply don't understand what the thermostat does or how it works then please have a pro do it before you rate one star because you didn't read the directions correctly.
This thermostat needs a "c" wire installed. If you don't have one or don't know what the "c" wire does there are plenty of videos to help out. This thermostat will not run on two wires.

This thermostat is easy to install is your a do it your selfer. I need to point out the you need the "C" wire on your heating and cooling system for this thermostat to work. I love the programing so the temperature goes down at night in the winter saving money on heating. I have notifications set up so if the temp goes above or below a set point i get a message. The wi-fi was a little bit of a challenge to set up but I got it. If you follow the directions exactly you should be fine. The phone app is easy to use and we can change or check the temp in our house from anywhere in the world.

Great product. I installed the thermostat in about 30 minutes. The router has mac address filtering turned on The router picked up a different mac address than the one listed in the documentation. The router allowed the documented mac address. Registration on the Honeywell site was extremely easy. My AC unit is a couple of years old, so no issue with the c-wire limitation. We set the temperature at 77 degrees 24 hours a day. We keep life simple. Checked the accuracy with a temperature gauge and the temperature ranged from 77 degrees in the hallway (location of the thermostat) to 78 degrees in a room two walls away. Close enough for our requirements. House is one story 1600 square foot ranch house.

This is a tough item to rate. I loved the ease of installation. It was up and running within minutes. It connected to Alexa without issue. The interface is excellent. The Honeywell app is very usable. However, I had to return it. The temperature differential, otherwise known as the cycle rate, is +/- 0.5 degree. This thermostat was turning my compressor on and off within 5 minutes only to do so again within a minute or 2 when the temp went back up a half a degree. It probably cycled at least 10 or 12 times in an hour. That kind of constant on/off pulls a lot of power unnecessarily and causes additional wear and tear on the hvac system. Honeywell service center days that there is no way to change the differential and it is set that way to maintain as accurate a temp as possible. I returned this unit and purchased an Emerson SensiSmart. That unit allows the owner to set the cycle rate to slow, medium, or fast. I rated this one at 2 stars because in my opinion it is unusable, but I can see how other people might prefer this level of accuracy and, as I said at the beginning, I love everything else about it.
