The humidifier makes me happy, but a few things to consider

Dyson's cutting-edge humidifier meets a difficult Chicago climate. I may be bias towards Dyson, because I'm usually a huge fan of their products. The humidifier makes me happy, but a few things to consider:
1) The humidifier will leave white dust in your room, from what I've researched this is relatively harmless crystals found in water.
2) If you have a good air purifier, it will get annoyed by this humidifier. I have Conway purifiers where I have these humidifiers, and I cannot have the Conway purifier on an auto setting. A slight annoyance.
3) If you use this daily, you'll have to fill the humidifier a couple of times.
Overall, I wouldn't want to sleep without it in a dry climate.

We already had one in our bedroom upstairs. Now that we are home more thanks to having to work from home, we decided to get another for out downstairs to use during the day. The easiest to use humidifier, not requiring bacteriostat because of the UV cycle. Requires distilled water to minimize white dust, but that is true of most humidifiers--just not as obvious if you do not use them because of the filters in those that require regular replacement.

It works fine. My gripes are that the maintenance as required by Dyson are excessive and most will never do it. Also they say it runs for around 18 hours on a refill and in my case it's 9 hours. This is suitable for a bedroom not a large area. Lastly the upper portion which has to be removed for each fill doesn't always go back in and lock so easily. You have to kind of play with it a bit.
Also as an ultrasonic machine if you have hard water you need to worry about white dust. I haven't seen any so far but I've read that others have. Folks aren't gonna feed it distilled water which gets pricey fast and every other ultrasonic model on the market has a filter to address this concern.
I suspect the fact it is fan forced carries the dust much further and the mist it creates is very fine so the dust is just being more diluted.

Great, best one I have ever owned. Very limited mist, no wet carpet, auto mode is excellent very effective and much quieter than the many other brands I have had. Easier to clean, no filter, bacteria cleaner... Highly recommenced if you can afford it

I think most Dyson products are overpriced, but this refurbished humidifier does work well. It is nearly silent, and the mist is not heavy enough to wet carpeting in the room. Generally very pleased with it.
