Definitely not to be installed with plastic bed liner spray on bed liner highly recommended

I just bought a new truck (2011 Chevy Silverado, 8' bed) and the dealer tried to talk me into a roll-top tonneau for $1300. I thought that sounded steep and I didn't like the idea of a canister taking up cargo space at the front of the truck, so I declined. After much research, I settled on the Bakflip G2. Having an 8' bed of course made whatever cover I bought more expensive than all the "advertised lowest prices;" those are usually for 5 1/2 foot beds. Ordering it direct from BAK would have run $860, but I found it here at Amazon for $739. Heck of a difference!

It installed easily. Including unpacking everything, studying the directions, and actually installing it, it took about an hour to install. Frankly, I was shocked at how smoothly the installation went. Clamping the bed rails into place was a piece of cake. What really surprised me, though, was installing the actual Bakflip cover. I set it in place and unfolded it and it laid right into place! I went all around it, looking for a something that needed tweaking or adjusting, but it was in place perfectly. So, I tightened everything down and it works like a charm. The fit and finish are top-notch and it looks really good on my truck. My truck is red, but Chevy's tend to have lots of black and chrome trim, so the black tonneau cover matches well. The only tools needed to install it were a 5/8" socket to tighten down the bedrail clamps and a knife to cut the drain tubes to the right length.

I'll sum this all up by saying that I am VERY pleased with the Bakflip G2.

I spent too much time researching my bed cover and landed on this one. The ability to quickly get it out of the way whether that means rolling it up, or removing it, this was my choice. You lose no room inside the bed. Made of high quality materials.

My negative is when it freezes. I live in florida, so this happens only a couple times a year, but you are not able to roll your bed cover if it has frost on it. You'll have to get it in the sun for a few and then do it.

Overall I am happy with it.

This BAKFlip MX4 replaces a broken rolltop cover I had. I installed this with a little help for alignment, and it was easy to do! I put this on a 2002 Chevy Silverado extended cap Z71 with the 6.5 foot bed. It seems durable, looks great and the best part is my wife, who is 5 feet tall was able to open it completely without getting in the bed of the truck. I was impressed, they really put some thought into how this cover should work to be useful and user friendly. In my opinion this was a win all day long; not to mention I think it makes my truck look great!!! The only downside was the instructions, in one hart was a little confusing where they were discussing the use of wedges; they are included ads are thick rubber strips; not what I expected but when installed are perfect!

First, let me start by saying that this product is every bit as beautiful as you'd expect; it looks and works amazing.

Now for the tl;dr folks:

I had a unit that (apparently) had a small factory defect in one of the slats that didn't expose itself until the very end of installation. I contacted the seller to see what could be done as the defect was obvious, but didn't fully stop operation so I didn't really want to hassle with uninstalling, returning, receiving and re-installing again. It was also missing a single screw that holds down the strap holder. First off, let me send a HUGE shout out to their CS team -- they were polite, quick to respond and very thorough with their options dealing with this issue. I couldn't ask for better service. They bent over backwards to be sure I was satisfied and that my issue was addressed. Not once did they make me feel like I was a "Karen" and just complaining.

For the product, installation was a breeze. I did have another buddy here to help, which came in useful as lifting the top onto the truck might have been difficult for me to do at my age and physical condition but was easy as pie with 2. A second person also helped when it came time to be sure everything was aligned and tight during install. Only basic tools required and it went about as smoothly as their install video shows: absolutely no complaints. And the finished fit and finish were absolutely perfect.

Summary: I couldn't recommend a better product. It's worth the extra $$ compared to the "lesser" soft versions and I really did get the best of both soft and hard tonneau covers with this option and couldn't be more pleased. Great job!
