A recent MRI explained the back pain. Specifically: 1. Severe foraminal narrowing is present bilaterally at L4-5 and L5-S1. 2. Anterolisthesis of L5 on S1. 3. Degenerative changes at other levels. The idea that a back brace could fix all this (i.e. no pain) seemed far fetched. However, Amazon is good about accepting returns, so there was nothing much to loose. This thing's like a magic wand! No back pain! The only problem has been eating a too large a meal while wearing the brace and then suffering acid reflux... so there's something of a learning progression, which I suppose is to be expected.
