During winter, do not order live plants when temperatures are expected to go below 20F at the lowest point during the day. During summer, avoid ordering plants when temperatures are above 100F.

I ordered these, and water lettuce are cold sensitive, but the low last night here was -1. They were shipped well enough that all 3 arrived in good shape. I was surprised.
These are one of if not the best plant for freshwater refugiums IF you have enough light. Check out Google scholar and there are papers using the plant for waste treatment. The main advantage this has over water hyacinth is it can grow with less nitrogen and phosphorus in the water (according to a paper on wastewater treatment).
Floating plants are the best as they aren't limited by CO2 in the water and if you have enough light these have visible growth daily.
Down side is they are not cold tolerant and need strong lights and a decent size refugium, but wow do they suck up nutrients.

Love these plants ... I purchased them in the late summer along with a lily pad and some water hyacinths for a 90 gallon outdoor pond with fish. The plants are flourishing, so are the fish, and the water looks more clear. The pond looks like a micro version of a Monet painting.

My water lettuce arrived in PERFECT condition! It is so perfect that it almost doesn't look real!!! But it IS, and I was able to simply remove it from its perfect packaging, rinse it, and place directly into my pond. When I want new water plants, I will definitely purchase from this seller again! I bought 3 Water Lettuce and within 1 month my small pond was covered in them! I have noticed that they do a lot better in part sun or full sun . My small pond that gets 70% sun is fully covered with water lettuce and my bigger pond that has mostly shade does not seem to be doing as great with the water lettuce. The plant is still alive and spreading in the shaded pond but at a lot less speed. I added 3 water Lettuce to each pond and while the small one is completely covered in them the bigger pond has only sprouted 3 more water lettuce for a total of 6.
