Sturdy for FX cameras, good for hiking and great price.

I had 3 main objectives when purchasing this tri-pod. First, I use a D750 and/or D810 with some heavy FX lenses so I wanted a sturdy, well build tri-pod that I wasn't afraid to put my gear on. Second, I do a lot of hiking and camping so weight and ease of use was a factor. And finally, price.
I have no concerns putting my gear on this tri-pod, it's sturdy, the leg locks are simple to use and easy to secure. Again, no concern that things aren't secure. In regards to weight - it's not the lightest tri-pod out there, nor is it the heaviest and lighter than most tri-pods I tried and tried. The last thing was price - I'm not afraid to spend coin on good quality gear. This item was priced lower then I expected for the quality and weight and would highly recommend it.
Final note, this is a personal preference but worth mentioning. This comes in different colors and I went with the blue. When I go camping or hiking there are usually people with me. All my gear is either blue or in blue bags which makes it easy for me when packing or identifying quickly what's mine versus other people's gear. It's nice to just grab my blue gear while my friends are trying to figure out whose black tri-pod is whose.

The packaging and everything was great... I opened it up and set up the tri pod and everything seemed to be awesome. When I went to use it I pulled out a leg and the whole damn thing came out. Two little plastic pieces came flying out along with it. One is now lost and I don't know what to do. Pretty annoyed I spent 110$ on this and i don't even know if I should try to use it again.
Lightweight and Amazing

I use this all the time! I like to film and take photos on the go, as I am assuming most other photographers out there do as well. This guy is great and comes in a nice compact carry case. While that part is not over nice, I am not a huge fan on the rather small strap. If you are carrying more than 1 or 2 pieces of other gear it gets a little tight. It does come with a nice velvet bag to cover the head with, and keep it protected from the elements which is a added bonus.
I find myself taking this guy out to the woods and filming a few painting projects, or quickly throwing it down to film some wildlife. While this is not a video tripod it works perfectly for it with my DSLR camera. It took me a few hours of playing around with the adjustment nobs, and keeping them at the right tension where I could move the camera around quickly.
Another huge advantage of this tripod is that the fact that it can become a monopod. While there is another piece you must keep around for this, which I often find myself leaving at home, or its in the bag and I am too far away to adjust for that. The quick release on the legs makes it so you can really forgo that and use all three is need be. Let me also not forget it does have a little level in it, so you can always adjust for make everything look perfect. It also maxes its height out at around 7 feet.

Broken leg locks in less than a year.

I purchased my tripod on 10 April of 2017. I I have almost all good things to say. I have liked everything about this tripod until just recently. I use my equipment almost daily, and I need something that can be used often and maintain structural integrity. Today ( 09 January 2018 ) one of the very flimsy plastic shims that is attached to the turning knob locking mechanism pretty much denigrated. After checking out the construction for a little while I realized that the locking lugs are suspect at best. I feel this way due to the new knowledge that this shim literally keeps the leg from detaching from itself. I doubt that I will be able to fix this myself, and now feel as if I must purchase a completely new tripod to replace this one.
My wife and I operate our own small business, and we have an art/photography studio. We produce videos of our work, and need solid...dependable equipment, that we can trust day in and day out. As you can see in my attached photos my tripod is cared for, and not beaten up. I have always been careful to not over-tighten, or add undo stress to my tripod, as this may cause me to break my other much more expensive camera equipment.
I would have reviewed this at a 5, but with the lack of the most basic replacement parts, forcing me to purchase another product, now leaves you with a 2.

Might be the best bargain out there...

The short: can't beat the quality for the price.
This reasonably-priced tripod compares very favorably with $300+ tripods I've purchased in the past, for 1/3rd the cost. The materials are all first-rate, the fit and finish are excellent, the leg locks are quick to use and very secure. The ball head is smooth and easy to position, and the position locks hold it in place even with a large DSLR with battery pack and a big telephoto lens on. Being able to quickly switch to a monopod is a big bonus, though I wish the couple of parts you need to pull off the switch had a dedicated pocket in the included case -- they might be easy to lose or fall out of the case without me knowing.
The quick-release plate is a bit on the small side, but locks quickly and easily in place. I'm going to have to buy a couple more, it would be great if the tripod came with more than one, but for the price one is reasonable.
All in all I'm extremely pleased with this tripod. Time will tell how it holds up to heavy use, but so far it's a quality piece of gear for a very good price. Highly recommended.
