Works Great

Product works great. Only reason I took a star away is that the box arrived a little banged up.
Good Purchase!

This is a good solid tripod that supports the weight of an 80D and lens without issue. Opening the box was a good experience, the tripod comes inside the box in a heavy duty canvas carrying case. The case has a solid cloth handle that Velcros together to keep both sides together and has a serious zipper for closing the case. The zipper looks like it will last a long time and has a sturdy feel to it.
Now for the tripod, inside the carrying case the tripod is shipped in a heavy plastic bag to protect the legs. The legs on this tripod when folding for storage actually go up so they surround the ball head, good design! The tripod itself arrived scratch / damage free and the ball head is covered in a velvet like drawstring pouch for further protection. Folding down the legs felt very smooth and overall everything about this tripod feels like a precision device. Once down the legs lock into place (3 positions) with solid metal on metal stops. The legs don't have "snap closed to grip clips" on the extensions like some tripods, rather they are threaded tighteners that allow you to make it as tight as you like. The center post is the same way, nothing flimsy about this tripod. The ball head has a nice level indicator that is not obscured by my camera and once locked down is solid as a rock. The weight is pretty light for such a solid tripod, I was surprised that it wasn't a lot heavier.
If I had to say something negative, the only thing I could come up with is that it would be nice to have a handle on the ball head, but that is just because I am used to having one. With this tripod I actually hold the camera while I position it. So far it's a much better method than a handle, but it does take getting used to.

6 years in and still going

I purchased this tripod back in 2017 and it's been fantastic. I use it for my landscape photography, family portraits, long exposures, product photography and composite work...so pretty much everything. If you're going to be extending it to full height or using it in a windy environment, definitely use the hook at the bottom of the center column to give it some extra stability. The tripod folds down small enough that I can attach it to my backpack style camera bag when needed and it fits nicely in a suitcase when I'm traveling.
The only complaint I have is that the zipper on the bag broke after 2 years or so. On one zipper head, the hook the pull attaches to broke off, on the other, the pull broke on the part you grab. There's still enough of the pull attached to the one zipper head to allow for opening and closing the bag, it's just not as easy to do as it once was. My 1-year warranty had already expired so when I reached out to Zomei they weren't willing to replace the bag and they don't sell replacement. Zipper issues aside, it's a really well-constructed high-quality bag that's worth having repaired if needed.

Good tripod, but bag needs some help
Spinicure✓ Verified Purchase•June 8, 2023
The tripod itself is very sturdy. But the bag needs to be upgraded, the zipper tag broke after two uses. It takes some work putting the tripod back into its bag. Maybe make the bag a little more roomer and upgrade the zipper.
The jury is out on durability, but I appreciate the customer support team.

This tripod was sold through Amazon by Zhuo Pu Camera Equipment. It was delivered within the expected time-frame. They have asked for customer feedback and while I won't be able to address durability (since I haven't had the tripod for very long) I can say that my first impression is that the tripod is sturdier than the one I owned previously, and it has more ways to be configured (i.e. put the head in upside down for macros, 3 different leg positions, option for monopod, and pan feature on the included head). I've so far used it to take pictures outside in snow and ice and...so far so good. The legs slide in and out easily and the twist style clamps tighten down in about a quarter turn - you don't, and probably shouldn't try to tighten these as if you were the incredible hulk. I don't have a big budget, and this ZOMEI tripod appears to have a very reasonable price for the features it offers. But the price is so reasonable, that it makes me think the deal is too good to be true. The fact that other brands seem to be selling the same tripod under different packaging makes me wonder who the manufacturer really is. If it turns out that this tripod is durable, I will update this review and give it another star.
I can also say a few words about customer service. When I unpacked my tripod, I discovered that the Small Pan Tension Knob was broken. Specifically, the plastic knob-head had snapped off the metal screw it was supposed to turn so the screw could not be undone and the pan function of the head could not be used.
Amazon is often a great way to buy things, but it is extraordinarily difficult to talk to a human being, and the automated remedies, while effective and polished, often do not have much flexibility in regards to options. Amazon's remedy, or at least the only one I could figure out, was to get permission to send the tripod back for credit. This would have been easy to set up"”in fact, I actually applied for a shipping number, and it was easy and there wouldn't have been any charge for shipping, but, I wouldn't get credit until they got the tripod back, and in the meantime, I needed a tripod.
Fortunately, Amazon also provided contact information for Zhou Pu Camera Equipment, so before committing to send the tripod back, I sent an email (to China I think) and described the problem. As soon as they read my email (Time zones), they responded and asked for a photograph so they could be sure of the problem and then the solution. I sent them a picture of the broken knob. And as soon as they saw it they (the Zomei Seller Team) responded again and said they were sending a replacement knob, and to just use pliers to take the broken screw out.
Zhou Pu Camera Equipment quickly solved my issue. The part arrived about a week later, shipped in a bubble wrap envelope from China.
In the mean time, I was able to use the tripod. I also discovered that some hardware stores have similar knobs that can work as replacements if you find you need one.
I appreciate how quickly the Zomei Seller Team responded to my problem.
