This is a great practice guitar

This is a great practice guitar. The only problem I have is with the 5 frets. I realize you can click on the capo button to reach higher frets, but it's difficult to do it within a song that would require several capo changes. The great thing is the size and the ability to take it on an airplane and a practice using earbuds connected the a smart phone. You're not disturbing your seat neighbors and not only are you making good use of the time, the flight goes faster. I highly recommend the JamstikPlus.

You may consider it as another type of new musical instrument but never think it can be your guitar alternative or replacement. If you want to learn guitar, go buy a real one. This "smart guitar" can benefit nothing for guitar practicing especially to the beginners. It may even cultivate you some bad habits that will be harmful when you perform on a real guitar.

After 5 months and buying 4 "real guitars" I still play this almost every day. My fingers just stopped hearting yesfay so now I can sit in my car or lounge chair and noddle with my iPad and ear phones while my wife watches tv next to me. I did get a replacement from tech support when th A string stopped functioning 3 months ago so 5 stars for support. I make sure I play the others to make sure I learn the proper technique of the real guitar in parallel. I prefer learning to read music with the jamstik but I realize I need the rest of the fret board on a real guitar and there are other chord formations than the open string ones with only 5 frets. I even bought a Yamaha silent guitar and put a Fishman Tripple Play wireless midi pick up but the Jamstik is quieter and @ $500 less expensive. I use Sampletank as my Synth app.

I think it's a great product for the price, and it works really well. The only downside it has is the guitar itself is heavier than you expect and it won't work with any android devices, since you can't install the proper app to play the Jamstik with. Do I recommend it? Yes and no, yes because it's really portable and would be a great addition for a guitar player. No because it only works with IOS devices not android, and it is not as lightweight as some other guitars. But if you play guitar and have a iPhone, I would totally recommend this to you.

Great tool for learning Guitar. Yes granted this is not the real thing, and there will be a learning curve when switching to the real thing. But there is a market for self paced instrument learning, and this definitely helped to get started. Also cool for MIDI playing of virtual instrument, much more convincing results than playing using a Midi keyboard.
