Love this Thermometer!
maria durfee•November 13, 2016
Freaking love this thing! I am one of those OCD people about salmonella and ecoli- I use this thermometer every single tiime i make meat- Used it on my port chops tonight actually! It is affordable too, and I like it more than the old fashioned silver kind. Digital seems so much easier to me- I always go in thru the sides of whatever I cooked to get an accurate read on it. This also comes with a plastic tube with a top that has a little hanger string thing on it- Really great stocking stuffer too!
Accurate temperature measurement but not, IMHO, fast enough taking temperature

This does indeed tell you the temperature it is measuring, but I'm not totally okay with how long it takes to tell you that - I want FAST and this isn't. I have another thermometer that's essentially instantaneous reading that I like much better - but THAT thermometer's probe appears to have a broken wire and is the reason I bought this one(!) - and to replace just the probe (long oven-safe cable with probe on end) costs almost as much as the entire device.
If you only want accurate, though, this works.

Helps you become a grill master!

I'm not sure how my husband and I ever went through life without a meat thermometer. We grill sooo much but it was always hit or miss, especially if it was dark outside. Now our meats are always grilled to perfection for our liking without a problem. Since we started using it, we like our food a lot more too! Plus we're not cutting up the majority of our meats to see if they are done or not! Love this product, packaging was perfect and shipping was fast as always.
Lets you know when it's done. Update: Junk. Run away.

Works well. My spouse tends to overcook meat (for fear of leaving it raw and making us sick), so I got her this to help take the mystery out of "is it done?"
Update: Total junk. We stored it in the tube it came in (to keep it from getting damaged). Still, after two uses, it defaults to Celsius and takes 20-50 pushes of the "C/F" button to kick it to Fahrenheit. Once it powers off and you power it back on, you're back to Celsius.
Our "fix" was to use google to convert the desired cook temp to Celsius and then use that. That eventually got really old, so we "splurged" for a good one - $19.99 on sale for the low end thermoworks (which is MILES ahead of this one in quality and accuracy).
When I got the new one, I tested this and the new one for accuracy, by placing both in ice water. This one came up 7 DEGREES LOW!!!!!
I bought this because it had received good reviews, and it was inexpensive. Don't make my mistake. It is neither accurate nor durable. Not even worth $1. Better to just guess.

I haven't found the perfect thermometer, yet. These can't be left in the meat, while the meat is cooking, for any length of time or the head will overheat and eventually fail. Still looking for a better thermometer with a heat-resistant head. May have to sick with a metal head clock-like-faced thermometer rather than digital. Does appear to be accurate and will give a readout that takes 20 seconds or so to get up to the meat's interior temp
