This fits pretty much as expected, though i chose "somewhat small" because the waist band doesn't stretch much past my 37" butt. And I usually wear an xs or small, so I imagine mediums would find this harder to slip on.
On my 5'4" frame, this petticoat is about mid-calf length, when i wear the waist at my belly button. If I hike it up to where my bra band is, it hits right in the middle of my knee. If I want it any shorter, then I have to start rolling the waistband.
I would say this lends a light/medium amount of poofiness. It's a natural look that I could wear to work and not feel like I'm in costume.
This is slightly itchy when sitting down on it. I will try wearing it with a slip - that should help.
Overall, I'd say this is a pretty good deal and I love all the colors it comes in. I chose the fuchsia one to wear with my fuchsia polka dot dress and I think it looks pretty nice either peeking out a little bit or completely hidden but just getting a glimpse of it when I swish around.
