I'll admit I ordered this for conventional and SSD drives. I did it mostly for the price and getting a 2 pack. But it would be nice if they provided some kind of washers so you could use it with a regular hard drive too. If you don't put in plastic washers (which fortunately I had a few from rasberry pi projects) you risk shorting the circuit board on a conventional hard drive.

This is a good value for a basic adapter bracket. Really liked the added value of the bonus SATA cables that come with. The missing star is because of the odd design choice on the size of the side holes for attaching the bracket to the computer drive cage, they are the smaller size same as the screws that attach the 2.5" drive, not the larger size that is standard for attaching 3.5" drives. As such, the special screws my case uses to attach drives to it's drive cage can't be used, and while smaller screws are provided in the package, they are way too short for my application. Luckily I had some longer small diameter screws on hand that would work.

These are pretty solidly built adapters, and for the price work well. My only complaint? They have no means to mount to the chassis from the bottom. So if your case needs screws through the bottom of these plates... you're up a creek. Something I wish I'd known before I bought three boxes. Oh well, I'll use them for something else. I'm not about to return the things for such a silly mistake that's completely my fault for not bothering to look. The images tell the perfect tale.
Holes not large enough are aligned properly, but it's cheap.

So I had many snap on 3.5 bay extensions for 3.5 in drives. You know, the little doo hickeys that have little plastic pegs that perfectly snap right into the holes on the side of 3.5 inch hard drive and such. Three different types would not fit into the pre drilled holes in this SSD extension tray. The holes were too small and not well aligned. I stretched out the holes a little with a punch then forced the 3.5 bay extensions into them with a pair of pliers. Even then they weren't completely in but at least the SSD and extension slid into the 3.5 inch drive bay. I mean, i'm glad these trays were cheap, like they should be, but in whatever factory this is made can that not increase the drill bit size and re-positioning a tad so this simply does what it is supposed to do?

Good value, but I did have a minor issue. The holes in the side of the trays are for metric screws that were smaller than the screws that were holding the 3.5 inch drive that I removed. Fortunately, I had the right size metric screws "in stock", so it did not delay installation of my 2.5 inch SSD. Had I not had them in stock, it would have delayed completion of the job.
