Fingerprint reader is awful; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Usually, it takes 3-4 tries to get it to read, but sometimes it will work first try, but most times you have to try repeatedly, even 10 or more tries. At that point I end up using the keypad. If it worked better, I would prefer using the fingerprint reader because it is a lot more convenient, also more secure because people cannot see your password, but unfortunately, it looks like I will probably resort to using the keypad most of the time.
Note: I ordered this unit twice. The first one I got, the fingerprint reader didn't work at all. The replacement is better, but still not usable in my opinion. I would be ok with 1-2 tries, but once you get to pressing your finger 3 or more times, it just becomes easier to enter the code. Too bad; the concept is great -- love having both options, but for all practical purposes, this is a keypad only.

Can't get the fingerprint feature to work, called to get help. Unit is not user friendly to program. Technicians don't always answer phone it rings and rings, no ability to leave even a message. Very hard to return bc I paid a professional to install & not sure I can remove unit and reinstall a replacement myself. I feel very unsatisfied, I bought for the fingerprint feature but can only use the digital code feature to operate it. #SAD

This lock looks , feels and works great. No complains at all. Some reviews said they had problems with the recon of the fingerprint.The solution is to register the same fingerprint a few times so the system can catch any angle of your finger. Hope this help and enjoy your lock

Works well for my application, which is an interior door.
Only 4 stars because the numeric pin code has to be very long (I think 11 or 13 digits) which makes it not too useful.
A few installation hints.
INSTALLATION HINTS:
1. The locking mechanism may require additional space in the interior of the door, but it's possible to accommodate that space without causing a cosmetic problem by using a spade bit and drilling inwards from the edge of the door
2. The parts kit includes several square shanks of various length which connect the door latch to the handles and unlocking mechanisms. In my case, after selecting an appropriate length shank, I found that after about a month the shank had moved away from the unlocking mechanism on the exterior side, rendering the unlocking mechanism unusable from the outside. MY FIX: Glue might be a possibility, but instead I introduced small pieces of fabric (1cm x 1 cm) into the shank cavity on the interior side of the door, one at a time, and refitting the shank and door each time, and repeating the process, until it was clear that the space was full enough to push on the shank and prevent it from moving away from the unlocking mechanism.

This is not a deadbolt but you do have to replace your deadbolt to install it. I worried about this but I beat on the door and give it a few slight kicks and the door stayed nice and locked. I trust this will hold up well. One word of advice. Buy the hole filler that is a option to buy with this and save your self a trip to home Depot.
