I had Gibson dinnerware before but lost most of it in a fire. I say most because since it is glazed clay it withstood the fire whereas most of my metal stuff did not. The only Gibson dinnerware that did not survive are the pieces that fell or were crushed by other items. But since I can't reuse the remaining ones (toxins from the fire) I decided to replace with Gibson again. I'm happy I did. This set is a bit more modern than my last set. Yes there are a few imperfections but unless you look up close you can't really tell. I found no black marks just small glaze marks that are a little bumpy but hard to notice. I don't believe my guests are going to put the plate up close to their face and look for them. I wish the bowl were a slightly bit larger and that the set included salad bowls like my last set but otherwise I love them. I highly recommend them.

Great everyday dishes!

I purchased this dinnerware set (2 a day apart) and while the design is pretty the quality is so-so. I recieved several pieces (2 bowls and 1 plate) that had dark pits or spotting in the glaze that I would not serve to a guest. Also, several of the bowls have a warped shape which make it impossible to stack inside the cabinet without a fear that they will fall over. I left package feedback on my order stating a few items were "unacceptable" but did not hear a response. I'm not sure if the dinner set is sold by Gibson or by Amazon - crickets either way.....I would rate higher if I could replace the damaged items.

Very disappointed! They had the look I was looking for however there was NO quality. Warped, irregular with rough bottoms that could scratch tables and fingers. A deal true good to be true. You could find a better buy at the Salvation Army while supporting a good cause.
