The loudspeaker and microfone sond very good, and you can keep a conversation 8 meters from the base.
I am using it in Argentina and the dialing sometimes does not get the communication on the first try, but as it continues dialing it finally gets the call.

No monthly fees. My mom has used it in an emergency. It rings on my phone and I could talk to her. Program any three numbers and it really works great. I have recommended it to all!

This is very easy to set up and very easy to use. I like that I don't need to pay a monthly service fee. You set it up by recording a brief message, then programming three emergency numbers. When the button is pressed on either the base unit, the pendant, or the writ bad, the message you recorded plays. Then it starts to dial the first number that you programmed in. When you answer the call, you can talk to the person and they can talk to you through the base unit. You need to locate the base unit in a central location so that if the person has an emergency you can talk to them and hear them. You can't talk and call 911 at the same time - so if there is an emergency the person who gets the call needs to hang up and then dial 911 for the person who has the emergency.
It is easy to connect - you need a splitter that lets you connect 2 devices to the same phone line (sold on Amazon: Duplex phone plug adapter Modular Jack). It comes with 6 ft phone wire and a 6 ft. power cord. Wish these were at least 10 feet long. so that the unit can be place further away from the phone and outlet. Has an on/off switch.. Also has battery backup. The base unit has a cover that fits over the phone buttons so they cant be pressed by accident. The pendant is very good - the button is recessed slightly, which is good so you don't press it by accident. The button on the writs band is easier to press by accident if you are wearing it and you bump into something or roll over on it. The sound quality of the record and talk feature is not great, however. Overall, I think this is a good product that fits my needs for now.
