Ahh such a small inconspicuous piece that has made filtering water so much less messy and annoying. The life sustaining fluid is kept in a closed system that allows for gravity to do all the work instead of your freezing cold hands. One tip though don't screw the bottom receptacle too tight or it will cause a vacuum and no filteration

Excellent. Connect bladder or bottle to filter. I use this to hand my dirty bag from a limb with filter attached and bottle attached to coupling and filter. I get clean water into the bottle while I eat of chill out. No mods if you use this product - unlike the hurricane bottle connector that costs twice as much and has to be cut down to fit.

Worked perfectly to connect a Smartwater bottle. In fact, I could control the flow. If I wanted water right away, I could open loosen the connection a bit allowing more air into the collapsible bottle. Or I could tighten the connection fully and put the filtering "on hold". This way I could fill the 2L dirty water bag fewer times and keep water around camp until I needed it.

This is a versatile product when used with my Sawyer Squeeze filter. I can use it with a water bottle, a bag, or two water bottles. I can also use it to replace that crappy syringe for flushing out my filters at home or in the field.
I like that I can use this product as a multi-purpose tool and it is lighter and more compact than the syringe.

i use this from the output of a sawyer squeeze to a regular 28mm soda bottle. it is cheaper than the alternative "toy" that others have used (that you have to file or sand down) and the only reason for 4 stars is not a flaw in this product, but a flaw in the general physics of gravity feed filter components as a kit. this has to be loose to let air escape the soda bottle obviously, but you'll need to keep an eye on it otherwise you'll leak filtered water onto the ground (or elsewhere). on the other hand, filling into a platypus does not always work since the threads don't match up... so i am going to be a label whore and drop the "evernew" name. they work with this adapter.
in closing: use this from one collapsible canteen to another collapsible canteen. and a sawyer squeeze or Mini. a good kit, the days of pumping are over. and lighter!
