This is the second one that I purchased. The first worked fine, until the rod that is attached to the magnet broke, after a few months of use. Since I had the unit already installed, I decided to purchase a second one, just so I could have a working magnet. If this one breaks also after a few months, then I will have no choice but to purchase a completely different chime system.

This is the second one I have purchased and both times the "pull rod" from the magnet to the chime broke. When it DID work it was very effective.

It broke w/in 3 days of install!!! Not happy.

Works great but, is much larger than I expected. Nevertheless, I'm happy with it. I use it on an interior bedroom door so I'm alerted when my 85-year-old mother tries to wander around at night. A real potential life saver. I'm not sure why the photo I attached is rotated, sorry.
