Oh Man! What a difference! After fighting with the POS Xfinity modem/router/WiFi/telephone box for years, I've come to my senses and gotten rid of all it. No more random re-boots. No more loosing all my settings and preferences every few weeks. No more not being able to communicate between devices on my LAN. No more having my modem/router being hacked and hijacked because it's so riddled with vulnerabilities. Now I have a really good, dedicated modem with the power to do the job it was meant to do! This replaced my old Motorola cable modem that was only 30mbps and from 2014 so it was time to upgrade. I looked up my options on Time Warner Cable - Spectrum site and this modem was listed for higher speeds. Once set up and a quick phone call to the cable company, I was up a running in minutes, absolutely no problems. I did a speed test and this modem is much faster, nearly twice as fast, so I am happy with my purchase. Internet pages are much faster and my Netflix boots up much fast. I have this hooked up to my old wireless router and still have nice speed. Next step is to upgrade my wireless router. Priced very well and I would highly recommend this cable modem.

Upgraded from the SB6141 because of issues with spotty connection and many error logs. Now after 3 days, this Mb7420 has no error logs and no mossed connections. While I haven't noticed an increase in speed, I have noticed it is a stable speed, whereas the old one would fluctuate up and down during a speed test.

Works as intended - what more could you want. After about 6 months of use, this has been flawless. Far faster better than our previous and supports our upgraded 1 Mbps line. Can't say much for special features - it works flawlessly and has not had to be rebooted once. I do use a router for a large home network with about 5 LAN lines and over a dozen wireless and streaming devices.

I just purchased this Cable Modem upgrading my Motorola SB6120. I have placed this through the test and deem this device to be of good quality. I am an avid Motorola fan when it comes to Cable Modems. I have Comcast with a subscription of 300bps. This modem will obtain speeds up to 686bps. Through many speed test sites, I was able to get this up to around up to 350bps even though my subscription is for 300bps. Just remember, you will only get your max speed when you directly connect your modem to one computer without going through any other network device such as a router or switch. This is a great test method to ensure that it works. You will want to do this as soon as you open it and contact your ISP to have them update your MAC address from the new modem. Once it gets your stamp of approval and you see that it works and are having no problems, then proceed to connect it to the rest of your network.
