the only downside, which is small, is that for home automation functionality, its just on/off. you must use the APP to adjust anything and even that is limited as to what you can do. - but it works as expected and looks great on my wall. Also, I had a question in setup and Customer Service was very helpful, refreshing change of pace to talk to a live person that speaks English and knew about the product!

I was just reading the one star reviews and was very surprised by the problems mentioned. After the thermostat was installed, I went through all the steps to set it up. A couple of the procedures require some hunting through menus, but after that it worked fine.

I don't have to sign in when I view the stat from my iPhone. Within three seconds it connects and there is all the info. You can even check your local five day forecast after entering your zip code in the setup mode.

Since the stat obtains weather information about your area for the internet, it can work with weather mode. If it sees the temperature is very cold outside, it will turn in the floor heat. Very impressive, but I just went with normal operation and have the sensor monitor floor temp instead of air temp.

Contrary to those negative reviews, I have no trouble with this unit and thus far, works perfectly!

If you need a thermostat for your heated floors then this one works okay. Touchscreen is nice, selectable themes are nice, basic functions are performed well. Don't buy this for the connectivity though. It's kind of nice that you can do a firmware update for your thermostat, I guess. But the ability to remotely control this with your phone is foiled by the poorly written app you're supposed to use and whatever connectivity software is actually running on the thermostat.

The trouble starts with signing in to the app. You have to do this every time you use the app. The app is actually just a web page hosted within an app container, so you get the poor performance of a web page coupled with losing all of the features you'd normally have in a web browser (like the ability to remember the password associated with the accounted on a particular web site). Once you log in - that is assuming your account hasn't been locked for some unknown and arbitrary reason - you will find that more often than not you cannot connect to the thermostat without actually rebooting the thermostat, which itself requires walking up to the thermostat and finding the option within the menus on the device. But once you're there, you may as well just twiddle whatever setting you were hoping to use the app for.

IMPORTANT! If you have trouble getting it to connect to your wifi, even after following the troubleshooting in the manual, you may have to turn on "DHCP always broadcast" on your router.

There are several other router settings to verify listed in the manual, but the above is not.

Easy to use and quick to connect to your network. Nice slim and clean profile.
