Grows mold in water reservoir. Needs a separate water cup.

Super bummed about this Babyfood maker. At first I was so excited to be making food with it, but after three uses, I discovered the water reservoir was turning green and when I shined my flashlight inside noticed there was mold growing. They should have designed it so there was a separate measuring cup for water (aside from the blender). When cooking multiple veggies/fruits that require different cooking times/water levels, you have to cook them separately. So between different foods, when your refilling the water reservoir, you either have to scrub the blender and refill the water, or if you could accidentally fill it up without cleaning it, you're pouring water that has food particles in it into the water reservoir. It's just a bad design. Food gets into the water portion. I'm not sure if mine turned green because of that or if the steam from the veggies gets into the water reservoir. Either way bacteria grows and that's not good.

I ordered the Beaba Steam Cooker to use for my elderly mother who needs her food pureed. I love the concept of being able to steam rather than microwave and then to blend with the same unit. My only issue with the Beaba is that the bowl cracks. I am on my THIRD bowl and only have had the unit for a few months. We use it 3 times a day so it does get a good workout.
I just ordered the Brezza with the glass bowl. I am hoping the Brezza is just as good at steaming and blending as the Beaba. I wish Beaba had the option of having a glass bowl rather than the plastic. (or what ever it is)
I will come back and let you all know how they compare.
NEVER BUY IT!!!!!

I bought the Beaba Babycook less than a month ago and started to use it three weeks ago as my baby turned 6 months. This morning while purreing some squash, the plastic round piece at the center of the blender's bladers simply melted down!!! I've been always very careful with the machine and never used the blender for longer than five seconds each time. Then this morning I heard a noise, stopped and looked at it to see that plastic melted in my baby food!! My baby could not eat, I could not go to work, it was a total disaster! I've read another review describing the same problem, so looks like this Beaba Babycook is really fragile and unsafe!!
I've been calling Beaba to complain and they are always closed during their (already quite retracted) business time! What a disappointment!
Great product!

Do not buy this product. I purchased mine in the beginning of the month. I make baby food every 2-3 days roughly twice a week (at most). After 2 weeks (4x use) i noticed when i plugged in the device a red light appeared and then disappeared very quickly after. I thought maybe its time to clean the reservoir. Upon inspection i saw some minerals deposits. No biggie. I followed the instruction to use distilled white vinegar and water and leave it overnight. I completed 3 cycles as istructed, reset the counter, and wash all parts. I thought everything would be fine then. I used it again once and my baby got upset stomach after. Im not blaming beaba, it could be because i introduced new food. Anyway, i have not used it again since bc we were on a strict diet after for 2 weeks. Now, i am ready to use it again, i noticed when i plugged it in the same red light appeared again. I checked the reservoir, i saw some deposits. Fine. I cleaned it again as described above. Afterwards i let it air dry and I still see deposits, so i did it again. Mind you each time i have to leave the solution in overnight, so now 2 days have gone by and i still see deposits! I called the manufacturer and they told me to use 1 cup of vinegar and leave it overnight. Now 3 days later, i still see the damn deposits! I am fed up, because the water tank is too small for a brush and i cant exactly maneuver a brush while keeping a flash light tilted and angled to get a good view of the reservoir. Theres no point of owning a baby food maker if you cant cook with it. I love the design, i love the simplicity of the device, but being able to clean it is just as important especially if i am cooking for my babies. Beaba, i suggest you make a removable water tank that people can open and clean by hand. For now, i would like to get my money back. Thank you.
