I purchased this kit to revive several vintage, stoneware bourbon jug lamps my dad put together many years ago. We did not drill the jugs. Using the prewired socket makes this really easy. The directions are simple to read, primarily pictures. I had a couple of lamps that were 3-way but I changed them to the single switch that toggles back and forth. It was easy to add the base for a new harp. I'm using them with regular LED bulbs. If you don't want the cord to go through the bottle and come out at the bottom, this is the way to go.

Super easy to assemble. I used a knife and cutting board to trim down the rubber stopper to properly fit my Clase Azul bottle. Not difficult at all. Found the shade on Amazon as well. Definitely "lights" up a room with charm'

We had a magnum wine bottle, really pretty label and all, and wanted to make a lamp. I have never done such a thing and found this kit on Amazon. Voila! I did it. In just minutes. The only thing I'd suggest is a way to drill a hole in the bottle to feed the cord through instead of having it outside the bottle. But I just taped the cord to the bottle back and no one can see it. Awesome kit. THanks.

I have a vase I made in high school that I wanted to be more functional. Not really suited for flowers, I found this product and turned it into a lamp! I had to shave down the largest "plug" with a kitchen knife to get it to fit, but the neck of the vase is a nonstandard size. Works great, super easy to use. The lampshade I bought doesn't fit awfully well, but it works.
