I work in TV and film production and the catered food is understandably served on disposable everything. Eating off of metal utensils makes me feel a bit more like a human being and less like I am in a low rent cafeteria! The knife on this is decently sharp and has the ability to actually cut meat as opposed to hacking away at it with a plastic knife. Given the number of meals I eat at work, it also helps reduce waste (albeit in a tiny way).

On the more extreme oddball end of things I am also not a big fan of eating or drinking from plastic, the idea of petrochemicals leaching into my food and drinks is not appealing to me.

Yeah, I'm the weird guy who brings his own utensils, but it makes my meal a bit more enjoyable and toxin free so it is totally worth it.

So I am editing my review due to use. I have used these a total of 3 times, and the. Paying is coming off (I hand washed) on top of that, the handles are very fragile, and the fork actually bent with VERY little pressure.
The texture is hard to get used to, but I think you could get used to it. But the quality of these is less than great. They bend easy, the coating comes off, and the texture is not only awkward, but near impossible to clean by hand.

I really wanted to like these, and initially I did, but then after the 3rd use, problems started coming to the surface.

Good design. It is much easier to separate the pieces if you first extend the fork. Well built and comfortable. The knife blade is sharp, and it holds a pretty good edge, but the shape of the blade, though efficient, takes a little getting used to.
I gave it to my daughter-in-law. She carries it with her because we don't like the environmental impact of plastic flatware when we go to restaurants. It accommodates her small hands, although it's not too small for large hands. It is sturdy enough, and it comes at a reasonable price.
I made an informal study for a couple of months to see just how much plastic is used that we don't even seem to think about. If we could recycle all that plastic, it might not be so bad, but we don't. And some areas don't really have efficient recycling of these products. So I urge you to look into carrying one of these, or similar, products. They fit nicely inside a purse, a pocket, on a belt, or in a daypack. Give it a shot. Change your pattern and you might change your thinking. Or vice versa.

This was great... until a piece of metal inside the tool that holds the knife taut and firm broke off... and now it just wiggles around, and I have to use two hands if I ever want to use the knife to cut stuff.
EDIT: I saw someone else on here had the same problem, and even posted a photo-- and he was sent a free replacement apparently?

July 2017 UPDATE: I was recently contacted by their Customer Service and I was offered either a replacement or a refund, which I chose. That is good customer service, many a company wouldn't even bother addressing poor reviews. For that, I have just added one star back.

Despite my personal issue with the item, would still buy again thanks to good customer service, that's for sure.

Decent otherwise... you get what you pay for.

I purchased this item for my days being spent out in the middle of no where with my job. I noticed that I ran out of spoons and forks because of my habits so decided to purchase this camping utensil. At first, I was concerned that they didn't"‹ get the length right. I was concerned that the spoon would be too small or that it would break easily. However, once my product did arrive I was thankful to see the quality of the item. It was durable with a detachable fork which made eating way easier than expected. It did what it was suppose to do and was perfect for any eating situation, perfect length as you can see from the photo. In a nutshell, I gave it five stars because it did was it was meant to do and it did it very well.
