These shears have a comfortable grip (I am a woman with medium size hands) and they are very sharp. I have had no problem with 3/8" hardwood branches. Only downside, my hand sometimes slides forward into a position with less than optimum leverage (compared to similar Felco pruning shears).

This pruner can be unlocked and used with one hand ! Blades are very sharp and have sturdy handles. I have trimmed roses, and small bushes.
