These are awesome for my kid. She is only 5 and they are a bit big, but they do the job. I taught her how to Ice skate and these protected her when she fell. She never had any bruises from the hard ice (which I remember having when I was a kid). These combined with elbow and knee pads along with a helmet, she is perfectly protected. If they work on the ice, they will work anywhere. Get them if your kid is learning anything that involves a fall on the rear during the learning process. Great product!

Loved it! Save my but from a lot of nasty falls. You are still going to feel the impact, but it provides a good amount of buffer. This is the only hip protection I've got. I'm satisfied so far. Don't feel the need to change to a different product.
