Randomly works, then stops working
C Lev✓ Verified Purchase•February 15, 2018
I've installed similar adapters like this on other cars and never had a problem. Not sure why, but this model randomly works. The radio only recognizes it half the time, sometimes when it does, after about a minute it stops working. Not easy to get to so guess I'll have to take a gamble each time I get into my car.
Does not work on T1805 Scion TC 2005 Radio

This product does not work with a Scion TC 2005 T1805 radio. Limited instructions... taking the car apart was easy and I was ready to hook up in literally 10 minutes... but there is no CD Changer capability on the radio so you can't connect... Disappointed in the description of this product as it clearly states it will work. Unfortunately, I didn't install this in the car right away when I bought it and now the return is not possible... that one is on me...
Low hum in background, not using phone charger at same time as 3.5 jack.

There is a buzz or low hum with both units I ordered, same car, factory stereo, no prior alterations to the cars wiring or anything else than would cause the hum. And the hum is present regardless of whether or not I have the firewire connector plugged into the source phone or not.
This is a neat work around, but Im thinking its better to spend this $25 towards a new stereo.

Works great 03 4Runner.

Works awesome in my truck. I was using a cassette adapter for my XM radio and it was terrible. It plugs into the extra slot on the radio for a CD changer. Then, when you hit DISK twice it goes into changer mode, but actually plays whatever you have plugged into the cable. Sounds great. Just go on YouTube to see how to remove your factory radio for a few pointers. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I watch how to do it first anyways so I don't spend all afternoon swearing and looking for one hidden screw.
Only thing not great is trying to charge the phone off the USB cable. It charged my Motorola turbo super slow. If I was using nav, it probably wouldn't have kept up.

So far so good

I really like that the phone charges adequately when plugged in with this and the music does come in pretty clearly. As posted by someone else, there is a slight engine noise coming through the speakers when it is on but no music is playing. Take note that the music can only be controlled on the iPhone. The steering wheel or the dashboard receiver controls do not work with this. But I bought this to be able to play my library through my car stereo and it currently works to do that so I am a happy camper.
