The media could not be loaded. Tried attaching to the door itself first but it didn't ring upon entry, only exit, at noted by others. So I mounted it above the door on the frame. After some trial and error, I figured out the best method to achieve the desired result: attach a paper clip with a 1/4oz fishing sinker weight to the loop at the bottom of clapper. It added about another $1.25 to the cost but now it rings when folks enter AND exit! And if I don't want it to ring, I just remove the paper clip with the weight. As you can hear in the video, it's much more pleasant than those electronic peel and stick things and no batteries to replace. And visitors love the charm it brings to our old house museum!

Note: my only concern is that the metal piece that holds the clapper seems very delicate and may not survive over time. It's also a little challenging to put that bit together. If it fails, I'll update.

I bought this to go with our old country store vibe of our shop & it's perfect. Very easy to install & rings easily when someone enters or leaves our shop. It's the perfect store bell. The brass is bright & contrasts nicely with our black door. We get a lot of compliments on it.

This is the coolest solution we could have come up with to solve our door chime dilemma. The electronic chimes just didn't work well.....always becoming misaligned and constantly giving us issues. This guy works every time, we never need to adjust it, and it is a great conversation piece not to mention it is a great looking product.....well made and very easy to install. Very happy with this product.

Front door of Spa to let workers know that someone entered.

It's a nicely made bell, solid brass, and louder than I thought it would be. It's perfect for the front door of our small museum, and it'll let us know that someone came in. One major flaw with this bell is the way the clapper is attached. The clapper had a couple small loops of soft wire connecting it to a small bracket screwed to the top inside the bell. The loops are so soft that a gap opened up and the clapper had detached itself in transit. Rather than return this bell, I just unscrewed the bracket inside the bell, connected it with the clapper with a small keyring, and screwed the bracket into the bell. Now I am certain that the clapper will not come out when it's in use. See my pictures for details.
