Good on smooth surfaces. Inexpensive.

I've been using this for several weeks and it is definitely a big improvement over crutches. It works fine for indoor use and for smooth surfaces outdoors. The issues I have had include that it will stop suddenly and jerk the handlebars if you hit any rough patches, twigs, etc. Also, if you try to turn it too sharply it will tip over so it can be problematic in tight spaces. This has worked fine for me overall since I can bear some weight on my foot, but I think I would like the rugged one better if I couldn't bear any weight on my foot at all. Not bad at all for the price, but if you can afford it, I would recommend the basket as it would have been helpful to have a number of times.
Works great, but in the future I probably would go with an upgraded version.

The scooter works well, and is 1000x better than using crutches. I do somewhat wish I would have gone with a fancier version than the economy scooter. The cushion on this is pretty hard on my knee, and the wheels don't stand up to un-maintained sidewalk very well. Large cracks have almost sent me flying off the scooter, moving at a pretty slow pace. If you're going to be using the scooter for a short period of time, I would recommend this for sure. If you're going to be using it for 3-6 months, as I am, I'd consider purchasing an upgraded option.
Good Product - Met needs

I broke my fibula and needed the scooter for a few weeks. This was the same cost as 1 month rental but it's mine to keep or re-sell on my own. It was light weight enough that I was able to easily get it in and out of the van while standing on 1 leg. I could see how if you needed it for an extended period of time you would likely want to buy additional pad/cover though. For the price, couldn't beat it, very good value and the product worked well. NOTE: I know my husband modified something so that the handlebars turned easier (made it easier to tip if you weren't careful) but made it much more user friendly to make tighter turns.
Slight hazards for elderly

I bought this for a family member who had surgery on her foot. I think its made well, but there are a few pros and cons about it.
pros: light weight, constructed well, very simple to put together, dual brakes
cons: turning and brakes
are you cant lock the brakes to brace yourself or hold onto the handles, turn radius is not tight, so for a disabled person, depending on disabilities, she is very weak in her arms and because she felt unsteady on the scooter, she did fall the night of surgery, trying to get out of small spaces is a hazard, turning is a very wide range, especially after surgery with no weight barring on one foot.
If you are fit and have upper body strength, go for it... but for elderly and disabled, a fall hazard,

This is a lifesaver. Well, at least a life-changer. After breaking my ankle, getting around the house with a wheelchair and walker was so difficult. I could hardly do anything for myself. I just got the scooter yesterday and it's given me my life and independence back. I recommend getting a seat cover for comfort.
