I got these this week and put them to use already. I had never used trekking poles before, but got some to help alleviate knee pain on hikes over 5 miles. I used them on a hike on the AT that ended up being 10 miles with 1,000' of descent. My knees feel great today!
The poles are very lightweight and easy to use. Follow the instructions the first time on locking the tri-fold mechanism (sliding out the inner white tube is not immediately apparent). The foam grips are comfortable to hold for 4 hours, and the straps are adjustable. There is only one height adjustment per pole, but it is just below the handle, so it's easy to access.
The grips and straps are designed to be interchangeable, so one pole does not appear to be designated right or left. This makes it easier to grab and go, but may reduce some comfort in the straps. Also, the sizing guidelines is basically spot on. I'm 5'10" and the long poles are about perfect. I have them set to 118cm now, so just barely longer than their shortest setting. Make sure you tighten the nut on the length adjustment tab a few times so it'll hold tightly.
Overall, I'm liking the build quality and the functionality, and the pricing is about half of what comparable poles cost through my local outdoor co-op.

Excellent Buy

I own a very similar set of Black Diamond poles and found these poles are very nearly the same quality for half the price. The hand grips appear to CNC machined as opposed to molded but are quite comfortable. The baskets appear to be the standard 1/2" threaded variety which should allow replacement from many sources on Amazon. I am quite pleased with the way the hand strap is adjusted, it is much better in my opinion than the BD method. So far no real complaints...

These are my first set of hiking poles. I was just curious to see if they can help me walk a bit better and reduce some of the soreness after my hikes. I must say poles do help. I didn feel quite as sore after my hike and going up hills weren't quite as tiresome. Of course, they aren't miracle workers, but they definitely helped.
As for the pole's themselves, I lent one to a friend of mine and she said that it felt just like the one she lost. I took that as a good thing since the type she had wasn't the folding collapsible type.
I love how light and comfortable in hand they are, which makes walking with them easier than a walking stick. No offense to people who like walking sticks, but as cool as they can be they do have a tendency to feel heavier the longer you hike. Folding the Parias are pretty easy too, in fact, they maybe easier than the Black Diamond Z poles I was thinking about getting that cost twice as much, and they didn't even adjust. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the locking mechanism because I didn't need to make any adjustments, but it's pretty cool that it does have that feature.
I don't have a lot of experience with hiking poles but I think I made a really good decision here.
