Contacts for battery are cheap and will result in problems over time.

I purchased this particular remote control for outlet because of the side-facing outlet on the plug-in part. When the box arrived and I tried it out, the remote didn't work. Looking inside, I could see wire loops that were to serve as contacts for the watch battery. I could see the anode wire was pushed in a little. I was able to grab it with tweezers and bend it back. The remote then worked as it should. I do believe that the sort of contact provided for the battery will be troublesome going forward. There's no spring action for those contacts. There is also no plating to prevent oxidation of the wires that serve as the contacts. The remote will have reliability issues. I do not recommend this particular remote AC control.

The Dewenwils wireless remote electrical outlets were a great find and purchase for me. The set included three outlets and one small remote unit. It is easy to program and link each outlet to the remote. The remote controls each outlet individually or all three at once. The outlets are already numbered for your convenience. The wireless signal passes through walls, furniture, doors, just about anything. I have one in a bedroom and can turn that light on from the living room before going down the hall into a dark room. This is a great innovation, at a great price for three outlet units. You can control anything plugged into the outlet - lights, TV or other similar electronics, coffee makers, toaster oven, anything. And the remote uses a common inexpensive button battery. I see no reason to buy more expensive units. These will do the job for you. Dewenwils also offers packages with different numbers of outlets.

I bought this remote for a tall lamp on my wife's nightstand. I velcroed the remote next to her pillow so that she would not have to get out of bed to turn the lamp on and off. It worked so perfectly, I bought another one for my side of the bed. I was a bit concerned that the remotes would turn the other lamps on and off, but they do not interfere with one another. I am thrilled with this purchase and would not hesitate to buy this product again.

Replaced older ones of a different brand that had stopped working well. We only needed two, but the price was good so we will save one in case we need it later. One had difficulty seating in the outlet due to the high baseboard, but it has enough contact to work. We are happy to have our lights on and off by remote again.
UPDATE: One suddenly stopped working? Our light won't work with the remote "on" or manually "on" at the #1 unit. It only works plugged directly into the outlet or by switching it to the #2 unit? Can't return it as it has been a few months now. It was the set of three units that were already programmed? I did try to program the #1 unit again anyway, but it didn't help. Since I got the set with three units when I only needed two, I replaced the bad one with the new #3 unit still in the box. I hope it lasts longer than the bad one. The other #2 unit is still working fine though we did use it less than the one that quit working.

We have a booster pump on our water system to booster pressure taking shower and cleaner the patio. We don't like to leave it on all the time, as it booster the pressure to 90#. We have one remote in each bathroom and one to carry around outside so we can turn the pump on at will. Works good at 100'.
