Amazing little 3D printer

I held out on getting a 3D printer for a long time due to cost and time needed for a learning curve. I am glad I did. This little jewel makes it as easy as I think it could be to get started. Amazon shipped me the V 2 version that comes with side covers and a hood to help with ABS printing, I believe. And it came packed in the most impressive box and padding I have ever seen. Very well thought out.
The machine is almost fully assembled only requiring a few steps to get up and running.The only thing I found to be a little poor was the plastic hood. It comes in several panels that lay flat for shipping purposes and there are some tiny screws that make a weird friction fit to hold them together. Maybe OK if you are a Keebler elf or watch maker but I ditched the screws and just used some tape. You could also glue the panels together or make your own hood with some Plexi from the box store. Probably don't need the hood anyway, and certainly not for PLA.
I went straight ahead and bought the Simplify 3D software. Great stuff. And I am making perfect prints, some downloaded from the internet and couple of my own design by using TinkerCad (great simple free cloud based CAD). I just designed a replacement clip for a broken fuse box clip on my truck. Printed it in PLA but will redo it with ABS when that comes tomorrow. What a great little toy... or is it a tool?

Finally found a 3d Printer that actually is reliable and works. I've had this printer for a couple of weeks- I did the bed leveling in less than 5 minutes and haven't had to adjust at all. The system boots up in less than 2 seconds and is ready to go. The heated bed works perfectly and every print adheres correctly and comes off without issue. This printer is fast, quiet, and extremely detailed. Prints on average setting far exceed my expectations. I am running Simplify3d software and will never use anything other than Simplify3d. It has every adjustment you can imagine and is as deep as you want or need it to be- ( I know this review is about the printer however the software plays a big role in print success.) This printer is built very well and just feels solid. I now can print projects that are larger and more complex with complete confidence that they will turn out correctly. I have in fact, ordered a second one which arrives tomorrow. I cannot stress enough the quality and value you get with this computer. I spent thousands previously on what I assumed would be a user friendly experience that only turned into endless tinkering and adjustments. QiDi has done it right and at their price point, is going to annihilate overpriced competitors with this type of product.

I'm extremely impressed with this printer. It's nicely built, dependable, and produces high-quality prints. Qidi's customer support is also a big plus. I had a nozzle jam on my first night and Qidi's team helped me through the issue easily. They even emailed me a video describing the repair. Which is amazing considering that there is a 12 hour time difference between our two countries. My only suggestion for anyone wishing to buy this printer is to also buy a copy of Simplify 3d. It's 150.00, but it has made a tremendous difference in the quality of prints I've made.
Great, smart product for the price AND exceptional service.

UPDATE -- Keeping the five stars and wishing I could add more for service. We've really put this printer through the wringer. And all the wear and tear has taken some expected tolls -- including filament extrusion problems, and even the need to replace one of the motors. But every time something goes wrong and I need help, the Qidi Technology people go out of their way to make sure everything gets successfully resolved. Really exceptional service.

A Great 3D Printer

This is truly a great 3D printer! The first thing to note about this printer is that it comes nested within three packaging boxes. The tool kit that comes with it has everything you might need to keep it running successfully. Unpacking the printer and setting it up takes less than an hour. I would suggest that a buyer watch one of the unpacking videos on YouTube. The folks who package this printer make absolutely sure that it is not damaged during shipment, and it is wise to view at least one of the unpacking videos so that you know where to find the zip straps that are included in the device. The buyer must cut these zip straps before doing anything else with the printer.
Once unpacked, please read through the instructions that are shipped with the printer. Once that is completed, download QIDI Tech to your computer. This is accomplished by inserting the SanDisk into your computer. It is an SDHC card that is included in your shipment.
Here is a note to those of you who have not used SanDisk: The shipment also includes a SanDisk card reader. My computer does not have a slot for one of these small SDHC cards. The card reader is a black plastic device that has a USB connection on one end and a slot to insert the SanDisk on the other. There is no way to wrongly insert either the USB or the SanDisk. Merely insert the USB side into the USB slot, and you are ready to download QIDI Tech software!
From that point, all you have to do is download what you want to print to the SanDisk, remove it from your computer, insert it into the printer, and then start printing. The instructions contained within the SanDisk will contain all the directions you need. Happy 3D printing!
