Overpriced but effective

These rollers (on the lower-heat option) do what I wanted them to do: provide body instead of curls for thick, chin-length hair. Pros: Heat up quickly, able to hold without burning fingers; similar to Remington's solid roller style -- without the annoying split down the middle like Conair and BaByliss; choice of 2 heat settings; dual voltage; automatic turn-off after 90 minutes; lightweight; travel case; elegant-looking. Cons: The price. I would have given this a "5" overall if it were priced at $70 instead of $100. It deserves to be more expensive than competitors but not 2x-3x as expensive.

I have never had hot curlers before. I bought this brand after research. Reviews of less expensive brands mentioned that the curlers broke or there were other problems. So, I purchased this more expensive product. It heats up in about ten minutes which I like. The first time I used it, one of the curlers (a large one) didn't heat up. So I moved that curler to another port and after a few minutes it did. The second time I used it, the same thing happened. Unfortunately, I am past the date of returning the item. Since there are only 8 curlers, its a bummer to have to move this one curler and wait for it. My hairis long and thin to medium thickness. I would say that it curls OK; the longer you leave it in (10-25 minutes) the better the curl will be. I do like that it comes with a very good soft case which will make it easy to travel with.

I've been rolling my hair with hot rollers since Charlie's Angels were Farrah, Kate and Jacqueline. I've always felt that heat rollers could be designed better, not burn fingers, not take up so much room on the counter, etc. Well these, satisfy all of those desires and give my hair a gorgeous, shiny, bouncy look that makes people comment on how gorgeous my hair is...if they only knew the truth. Without these wonderful rollers, I'd look like a tall haystack. Another plus: they heat up ready to use in about 5 minutes, and unlike some lesser brands, the clips are strong, they cling to the hair and don't fall out. If you have any doubt about the price, leave it at the door. They're worth every penny.

I am a BIG fan of heated rollers but I was hesitant to buy these rollers because of various review comments.
My Experience:
1. They get hotter than my 4 other sets - this is GOOD, my curls last longer.
2. I have NO PROBLEM seeing the ready indicator on the top of the rollers or following the instructions to access the two settings - a case of read the manual!!
3. The clips DO LEAVE MARKS - i use my old conair loop clips instead.
4. They are expensive - for me they ARE WORTH THE MONEY - very sleek design and smaller profile for travelling.
I like them so much, I have ordered a second set with 5x2 sets of smaller rollers for when my hair is shorter.
