True to color. Thin, but well made and look exactly as pictured. They do not slide or move at all. Got them for new house because our 14YO Jack Russell "Terrorist" was struggling to keep his grip and slipping backwards down the stairs. He is very comfortable going up and down now, but the 3YO female JRT tiptoes around them. Hilarious!
A Stylistic Solution for Stair Safety

As with everything, these stair treads arrived in a flash. (Thanks, Amazon!) The size was perfect for our stairs (which are fashioned just like the picture: white risers and stained-wood treads. I was hesitant at first, since I wasn't sure if the beige background would match our beige Berber carpet on the second floor; however, it matches perfectly. I know the double-sided sticky background will not hold long-term. It's an adhesive. On a surface that will collect dirt. So, we will eventually need to add either double-sided tape (made for carpet work) or carpet tacks to hold these in place. However, for now, they are staying put and offer such a great layer of safety for our family and our dog.
Buyers, however, should be aware of a surprise in the coloring. There is no mention of--nor do the pictures capture--an iridescent color in the pattern. At the right angle, it's almost like a gold linux thread was used (except it's most likely painted on). It's not sparkly, but it is shiny, and it is part of the branches, so you'll notice it. It doesn't bother us too much, but it was a surprise and could be considered a deterrent to some Buyers. However, for the price and the way these treads add a fun pop to our stairs and the safety it provides, we would buy these again in a heartbeat!

I purchased these treads to help my five dogs conquer my two sets of stairs...Both had been completely carpeted and one set of stairs were oak and sanded and redone after a water pipe burst...the other set of stairs were bare wood under the carpet and were painted...They were slipping going up and down so I purchased these treads... They are wonderful....they stay in place and vacuum easily...and best of all they have help the dogs conquer them...I highly recommend...

I was looking for treads to help a new pup navigate stairs safely but also really didn't want to use tape to tacks that would damage new hardwood stairs. These work perfectly. They stay in place securely. It's hard to describe the bottoms - you pull off the clear plastic before setting them in place, they are not sticky with adhesive and not quite like the rubber backing on other cheap throw rugs - whatever it is they stay in place and can also be easily repositioned.
Perfect, and you can renew the stickiness by simple cleaning

We got them because our dog is aging and was afraid of slipping so would cry and not come down the steps. This completely solved the problem. Also, they are a good material. I sweep with them still in place. They have not become dirty in the few months we've had them. They do get bumped out of place at times. Then we clean them, restick them, and they are like new. The sticky material has not affected the wood stairs at all. I do not expect it would. The design is nice enough to be unobtrusive. No guest have asked about them, so they must fit in well. I highly recommend these.
