The pieces came rolled up so it took a couple days for the mats to flatten out. I put them in the washer and they washed good, BUT now the mats feel sticky to my socks but still soft on my bare feet. Weird I know. I've gotten compliments on these and I wish I could find the landing mat.

This was better than I expected. I've had compliments from each new person that walks in and sees them.
Pros: looks nice, get compliments, easy to install, softer sound for those hollow sounding stairs, not slippery for you or pets. Adhesive is strong and was easy to cut, and place under the rugs. They stick well to the stairs.
Cons: regarding double sided adhesive. It's a bit challenging to remove the paper from the adhesive after you've placed the 1st sticky side down on the carpet. However, It's the only way to do it though or else it sticks to yours fingers which is more complicated. I just used my fingernail to bend back one corner and smudged the sticky side down so when I pulled it off the whole tape wouldn't come off. I carefully pinched the paper and pulled it off. Also, once you place the adhesive to the carpet, if you attempt to pull it off, the threads from the carpet get pulled through the back side BUT it isn't enough to ruin the pretty side! Just confirms how strong the bond of the tape is so that is good. One last thing, it isn't very noticeable but my perfectionist self noticed some of the long sided edge isn't cut perfectly straight. You'd have to look at it hard to notice.
Note on tread pattern: one side has 2 "triangles" while the other side has 2 triangles plus a dot (I called it the 3 side). I placed my "3 side" to my left (if I was going up my stairs). Again my perfectionist self could tell the shapes would be a little offset if I hadn't paid close attention the detail of this patterned tread.
Overall I am very pleased. These suckers haven't moved in a month since buying. And of course I love the compliments.

We placed these on our wooden staircase. Quality is wonderful. We did have to place velcro under each pad. Works beautifully! And so easy for the dogs to go up the stairs. Love the design!

They actually stay in place pretty well. We bought these bc our stairs are all white and was concerned about slipping out missing a step at night. They work great! The stairs are softer to step on and it's definitely a cute addition to the home decor. I was concerned they would slide around esp with our dogs, but they don't.

Needed a solution for my two pit bulls to not slip down the stairs and these are just amazing and exceeded my expectations! These already have a non skid backing which is great because I did not want to put anything sticky on my new hardwood floors or staple anything! These don't move and are so beautiful!
