I first bought the Medium size window door for my family's cats. Immediatly I noticed that they were having issues using the flap, so I tried a traing program in hope that they'd get used to the idea (I duct taped a wash cloth over what would soon become their entrance/exit) which they ABSOLUTELY LOVED!!!! But as soon as I put the medium door back they stopped ussing it again. My next thought was that it was too small, so I installed it in a box, taped one at a time in the box and with my assistance (opening the door & putting treats on whichever side I wanted them on) they were able to come & go VERY SIMPLY.

Even though that worked I decided to buy the large door since it fits my window better, but the same issues continue. I placed the door in the box (other end) and tried testing again. With all that done, our 10yr old cat & our two 1 yr old "kittens" (kittens aren't officially "cats" until they are a year and a half old) were still having issues using the door to say the least. I made sure the locks in both doors were in the correct (completely unlocked positions which they were) but even throwing all their body weight (the 10yr old weighs approximately 15lbs) and he couldn't get the door to budge. Finally, my fiancee noticed that there is a very unnecessary double magnet that is way too strong for my neutered male "kittens" that are between 7 & 9lbs each to budge - a female spade kitten of the same age would be a pound or two lighter!

What's really concerning to me is that the MED DOOR has a magnet that is the EXACT SAME SIZE as the LARGE DOOR. Could you imagine a KITTEN under 7lbs trying to use thst door to get to their litter box or outdoor Catio with their brothers & sisters and momma?

Finally today we removed the magnet from the LARGE DOOR ONLY as a test run (which with the help of an exacto knife to cut the glue and mini flat screw driver, my fiance popped out the pain in the BUMM, too powerful magnet from the flap door. We still haven't had a night to test it, but hopefully my cats will be able to come & go throughout the night to eat, drink, and sleep.

To the manufacturers of this product, STOP putting the magnet in the door straight off. If you think it is necessary, then include the magnets (though a lot weaker) along with super glue and directions on installation so that those who want to use it have the option but aren't forced to deal with an overly powerful magnet lock which causes pet lovers to buy a product which their furbabies can't even use without their parent Jimmy rigging the flap.

This is the 2nd one of these doors I have purchased. It's always the same issue. The seal around the door comes loose after just a few days of my cats using the door. I can't be the only one having this issue.
I just brought it inside and super glued the seal back on. Let's see how long this holds up.
Otherwise, it's a good door. Just need to fix the seal issue.

I'm up on a ridge with an unpaved Road on several Acres of hills and trees. My 1 year old Tuxedo Tomcat was 6 mo when I got this. An elderly lady gifted me with an 8 week old energetic friend. I never saw the parents and wondered (hoped) that he would be a large framed cat so he could dish out to what ever wondered up in the woods.
Alas he's a medium framed kitty. He's extremely fast and quite smart militarily. I had been in a motorcycle accident and broke some bones and had a concussion. Don't worry, the bike was fine other than a small dent in the fender
I spent my time recovering playing to cat. I just moved in and it's really more of a storage unit than a home but anyway I have a bunch of boxes stacked up like mountains and I throw blanket over one and and made a lure with no hook put it on 20 pound test I'm on my garage and I we spent my five hours a day when I was awake tossing that damn dragon it through dragging it over and he got really good the very quickly figured out to flankman over or run behind the mountain and come through the little tunnels and then fab come jumping out and I started getting up in the air with him and poor little thing he'd come up but lose a balance and fall over what my idea was I wanted to trigger his instinctive behavior so if he runs into something out there he's not guessing. He went to daddy's boot camp. Then he discovered..... OUTSIDE! He has the perfect lie I kind man feeds him and takes time to play games still always petting & groom him and let him know what he wants.
So as I'm looking at the advertisement here on Amazon I'm thinking I don't know how big he's going to get so order the large pet door. And it's right there in the door edge of my trailer going right to the steps and now that he's full grown I can't imagine a bigger cat getting through that door not without you know squeezing the sides. And I was like well if he grows bigger I'll just get a bigger one. Well he's not going to outgrow that door it works well for him so the moral of this long story is medium is small large is medium and whatever they make for a super large is really only large. Other than that it's held up well and hasn't broken
Works fine

Works as needed, however sometimes gets caught and locked by itself by cats nudging the slide mechanism with their feet.
I simply taped the sliding lock in place as i dont intend to actually ever use the lock.
